We were on our way south. The hotel has secure parking and easy access to autoroutes
Facilities are good and restaurant serves decent food.
The room was comfortable and a good size. Staff friendly and helpful.
Had a quick one night stay in Valence and we chose the Novotel. It is convenient to the highway and had a decent restaurant that had some local flavors. One big positive, the restaurant gave great deals for local Rhone Valley wines for dinner, including a nice Chateauneuf du Pape. The rooms are adquate and typical of Novotels in Europe, though I was lucky enough to have a room where the windows opened to a rolling stream which made for an excellent night's sleep.
Stayed here where on way north towards Calais. Good stopping off point just a short distance from A6 motorway exit. Probably just somewhere for one night really. Also good value petrol and local hypermarkets nearby - so fill up before rejoining motorway! Booked the room at last minute so no real deals available but price around normal novotel range. Room on 5th floor had obviously been recently refurbished so good bathroom with bath and reasonable shower over. Mini bar, safe etc flat screen TV and free wifi all great. Room clean and comfortable with lots of space, desk area (as usual no mirror over - why? could be a dressing table area otherwise have to stand by mirror outside bathroom... Beds good size and very comfortable. Towels in bathroom a bit skimpy and mean but otherwise fine. Noise from adjacent motorway is pretty incessant if you like sleeping with window open. The only real negative was breakfast which at 15 euros extra per person was pretty poor, run out of most things by 08.30 and no sign of replenishments for toast, scrambled eggs etc. What was there was ok but only warm rather than hot. Pastries good, juice concentrated not fresh. Coffee Ok. Good secure parking with gated entry and exit looked a bit like a compund but if that keep the thieves at bay then so be it! Restaurant has pretty terrace for nice summer days. Restaurant has interior conservatory extension, but not so nice when raining and thundery as it was the day we stayed. Dinner menu and food were fine with good selection, well cooked and some good local wines from international growers in the Rhone Valley featured by glass and half bottle and bottle
