The staff were really friendly and helpful. The communal areas were well presented and our apartment was perfect. The recent revamp was well thought out and although the apartment was a 1 bedroom 4 person apt and there were 3 adults and 1 child we didn't feel on top of each other. Our shower was faulty when we arrived, we reported it and it was fixed within 20 minutes!!! My only gripe is that although having a really large fridge is handy I would have preferred to have had a slightly smaller fridge and an oven rather than just a hob and microwave but we managed perfectly well.

Really nice, comfortable apartments. The 'spare' beds were surprisingly comfortable too!
Location was ideal in that the lifts were a short 2 minute walk straight opposite the apartments and if you did want to start your day in the centre of Val, then the shuttle bus ran every 2 minutes and was super efficient. The shuttle also meant that enjoying the apres ski was not a problem since getting into town and back was so easy with the shuttle running up to 2am!
Another lovely aspect about the apartments was the all day sun on the balcony which was lovely to sit on at the end of the day if not making the most of apres in town. Also great location for a quiet night's sleep.
Overall - definitely recommend this

Stayed for 4 days early December 2009. Apartments are very good. Clean, smart and comfortable. Right at base of La Daille - easy access to piste and navette bus into Val d'Isere.

Just back from our second stay in these apartments, having discovered them last December. Val d'Isere would not be my first choice of ski resort (more about that later) but I chose it because of the excellent snow record and the fact that it opens one or two weeks earlier than most resorts.
We were lucky as we had 7 days out of 8 which were endless blue skies and sunshine - a great help for any slightly nervous skiers who like to be able to see where they're going! On the other day it snowed and was magical.
The apartments are great value for money and you don't have to book Saturday to Saturday, which you do in many resorts. Staff are friendly and helpful. The apartments are spacious if you are just two people, but the kitchen is definitely a one person kitchen and I would imagine space could be tight for families.
Similarly the lockers - I agree with the previous review that they leave a lot to be desired. The have heater/fans but these are either broken or just not switched on. If you hire skis rather than taking your own, better to leave them in the ski shop where they're better cared for.
On the downside, wifi is only available in reception which is disappointing in this day and age.
The location is great and there's a lovely bar at the foot of the slopes for apres-ski, the Rosee Blanche (same building as Le Barrillon restaurant which is also good, part of the same establishment). You can sit outside for as long as you can stand it, watching everyone coming back down, then when the frostbite starts to set in, go inside to the wood-burning stove and warm up.
However next year I'll be looking for a different pre- Christmas resort. The world cup finals were taking place both weekends we were there. Whilst this creates a great atmosphere, it means half the runs get closed off. The four or so reasonably gentle runs back to La Daille were reduced to one very busy, icy, bumpy red as the only ski-ing option. Difficult even for good skiers as every level attempted to get down it at the end of the day creating bottlenecks. The piste machines were all occupied on grooming the championship run and went nowhere near this one. It also wasn't clearf rom the start of the run, where it starts out as a green, that it was the only way down from halfway. So you got loads of beginners expecting an easy run down - I guess they only did it once!
Poor management of the slopes and disappointing in terms of value for money. The ski pass prices should be reduced accordingly.
I wouldn't recommend Val for beginners or early intermediates - above that level though, there's lots of scope. There are some nice fast new lifts and we never had any queues or busy slopes. Slopeside restaurants are good and plentiful.
On the whole, a good resort, but prices, a long transfer time, and closing down of slopes would make me look elsewhere for this time next year.
Apartments however are good.

Having read about the "hideous satellite village of La Daille" the first pleasant surprise was the location of these apartments. La Daille does have some very large modern apartment blocks but the situation with the dramatic escarpment behind and the picturesque river and famous World Cup pistes facing it is spectacular. There are a number of excellent restaurants and bars within tottering distance; a supermarket; and a ski hire shop directly below the apartment block.

It is definitely the best place to be based for access to the slopes of the Espace Killy as there is a funicular, a chairlift and a gondola all within 250m of the apartments and these take you straight to the heart of the ski area ahead of the crowds. It is great having the 4 (or more?) tree lined runs of La Daille, including the famous OK downhill, as your home runs and the famous Folie Douce, where they play live music in the afternoons at the top of the pistes down, - as your local.

The fantastic "Train Rouge" free bus service really does run every five minutes during the day and less frequently but reliably until 2.00am so there is no need to miss out on the apres ski in the centre of Val, even if you can't face the 20 min walk along a flat path. Its out of town location means that it is very peaceful at night in contrast to the centre of Val where I have read that noise until the early hours is a pain.

The apartments are newly renovated and are modern yet warm and welcoming at the same time. Our bathroom was great with a small bath and powerful shower delivering reliably piping hot water. The kitchen had a proper coffee machine, dishwasher, fridge, hob and microwave/grill. I am still recovering from the fact that the utensils included an oyster shucker!
The main living area had a flat screen TV that included 2 English language channels and you could plug a portable DVD player or Playstation in the back. It was nice to have directional wall lights rather than the traditional 700 watt single hanging light fitting. The bedroom was pretty spacious and all the beds and the sofa bed were surprisingly comfortable. The best thing was the huge south facing balcony overlooking the pistes. We enjoyed having a beer while watching people make their way down.

The reception staff were good and when we reported a dud lightbulb and wobbly tap these were repaired at the first possible opportunity.

My only criticism would be of the boot room. Each apartment has its own locakable locker which is good, but while fitting 5 sets of ski equipment in might be a breeze for a Krypton Factor finalist; we found it a challenge getting 4 sets in. The lockers have been knocked up out the cheapest ply and I really missed the heated boot racks that our last two (budget) hotels provided. There are no benches for you while you get in and out of your boots and the whole room is a bit dank and maloderous. It is a shame they didn't spend a couple of thousand more here to bring it up to the standard of the rest of the building.

However we didn't come to Val d'Isere to sit in the boot room and for everything else this apartment was superb.
