We have recently returned from a weeks stay at the Chalet Helene. I must point out that I did not book the apartment Chalet. We were a group of 4 guys on a skiing trip and are used to staying in chalets.
The Helene lacked enough room to suit 8 people, 2 of our party had to sleep in what can only be described as a cupboard with a bunk bed for 3 in it. My room was a more traditional twin which was supposed to have a window, it did but it was so small you had to stand on the bed to look out. The beds seem to be very old but comfortable.
The living area had a red sofa which was black around the edges with dirt. The whole place could do with a complete make over and a very good clean.
The food although very good lack quanity, especially when you have been skiing everyday and looking forward to a hearty meal. Bread seemed to be at a premium, on the Wednesday the cooks day off there was no bread for breakfast.
The location was ok as the mini bus was quite frequent and in the morning you could get onto the piste down to Solaise albeit a bit of a walk to start with, good warm up.More
