We are currently staying at this hotel after 2 1/2 weeks of City visits, and being here is like an Oasis. The hotel is situated in an ideal town (Talloires - far enough away from crowded Annecy but close enough to visit). We have a lovely room, breakfast and dinner included, and staff who are extremely accommodating and helpful. Dinner in particular is excellent, gourmet quality imho. I cannot say enough about how much we are enjoying our stay at Hotel Les Grillons.

The hotel is run by a delightful young couple, the meals were 5 star quality, the pool, spa and garden were great. The room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable, lovely view of the lake from our balcony, great advice on where to go around the area. Boat trip into Annecy township just across the road was very enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble. plenty of parking available. We could not fault this accommodation and it was the best we have stayed in during our last 4 trips around Europe and hope to return one day.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a balcony over looking the lake

Our first visit to Hotel Les Grillions and definitely not the last. Very well run Hotel and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Food and service excellent and if you don't like anything on the menu they will change it given some notice. Rooms are spacious (good if you are a keen cyclist)and clean. Gardens and pool are lovely and there is a nice relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of room for parking and it is advantageous to have a car. Older people should be aware there is no lift but the staff will help you with your luggage if necessary. Hope to return next year.

We had a great stay(mother and 2 teenagers here) for 5 nights in July. The welcome was warm, the service very friendly and the food was great-not only that, there was a lovely welcome for our little dog, plenty of parking(very important for our big car) and the pool and gardens were very relaxing-we couldn't fault it and would go back tomorrow!!

Room Tip: choose a lakeview room-it's worth it!

It is difficult to add any significantly new praiseworthy comments on Les Grillons to those already posted. So the following is very much an endorsement of the many 5 star ratings already given.
The Location- situated just 2 kilometers south of Talloires, about 100 meters off the reasonably busy(and predominantly) lakeside road, the driveway leads to a large car park, where shady parking is possible.
The gardens are beautifully maintained and deckchairs and loungers are situated in both shady and sunlit areas. The outside dining area has parasols providing shade as required whilst eating or enjoying drinks.
The naturally heated pool, at a lower level than the garden/dining area, is accessed via the outside dining area and is a kidney shaped design with a shallow walk in area: the maximum depth 5'6; it is designed to be more of a tranquil swimming/floating pool. The adjacent jacuzzi is efficient and usually warmer that the pool itself. More than sufficient loungers and deck chairs and parasols are provided, and the pool is maintained and cleaned on a daily basis.
The tables in the interior dining area have been cleverly positioned so that most have a pleasant exterior view and none are too close to each other.
As for the food itself all the previously posted tributes are echoed here- the main courses at dinner for our stay were, RibEye Beef, Veal, Duck Breasts, Fera(fish from the Lake), Fillet of Beef, Chicken Breasts. Roast leg of Lamb, all beautifully presented and accompanied by their individual mix of vegetable, potaotoes, rice, sauces, etc produced by the hard working and ever smiling Sebastien. All starters and desserts were equally beautifully presented. Dishes to be photographed as well as tasted and enjoyed. And each dish announced/explained as to its content by the wonderfully young smiling staff, who made very attempt to do so in the language of those they were serving
Breakfasts taken either inside or outside were a relaxed affair, with plenty of hot coffee, and tea; criossants, bread , cold meats, a range of cereals, fresh fruit and DIY boiled eggs!
Access to all bedrooms is via a rather winding staircase and our room on the second floor although not having a balcony had a good view of the lake.
Our room was spacious and housed a king sized bed, ample storage space, a very secure safe, separate bathroom (with shower) and toilet. The TV set itself was as good as any previously encountered on holidays, but the channels, for the UK guests, probably the poorest..BBC World and CNN International being the only English speaking channels
The free wifi however was briiliant- so ipad and laptop users are well served
There is no aircon in the bedrooms so a couple of hot sleepless nights were encountered (although it is understood that fans can be made available)
There was a mixed age range of guests, from tiny babies to the more mature; Dogs are allowed and were present throughout the premises. During our stay English guests were the minority, French and German being in the majority.
Front of house the ubiquitous, ever smiling, ever helpful Aurelie who does everything to ensure every one of her guests is treated with a warm friendliness that has permeated to all her staff and guarantees a fantastic and relaxed stay in "The Crickets"
And finally a few words about some of our personal favourite experiences during our stay:
-Cascade D Angon, the walk to the waterfall -exit the hole in the hedge at the back of the hotel, turn left, walk over the speed humps in Angon hamlet ,take a right hand steep climb up a clearly marked path.
- Walk to Talloires, via the cycle path (or the grass next to the cycle path!), a leisurely 25 minutes past the Lake
- Enjoy all of Talloires, a beautiful village, many lake activities and walks (try the Roc De Cher walk from the path on the far right of Talloires "bay")
-Use the local bus 61 to Annecy Town, a pleasant 30 minute 1.50 euro air conditioned coach ride
-Take the circular Lake boat ride from Angon (commentary provided in French and English)
-Go to and enjoy the lovely shaded Angon beach-just a 5 minute walk from hotel and take a swim in Lake Annecy,

Lake Annecy has truly startlingly beautiful blue clear and clean water and surrounded by mountains with Hotel Les Grillons a wonderful base for a tranquil and perfect holiday.

Room Tip: Full Lake view rooms (with or without balcony)

We were thoroughly impressed with this hotel. The staff were professional, warm, friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with lovely views of the lake. Breakfast was great, and each course at dinner was a delight. The grounds and garden are extremely well kept, and our children loved the swimming pool and jacuzzi at the hotel. There is a lovely swimming beach just across the road from the hotel, and the lake itself is truly beautiful. We spent nine wonderful days there and we would love to visit this hotel again.

Just returned from a 7 day stay at this superb hotel (17/07/2013). Where does one start to describe this wonderful hotel and team that front it.
From the minute you arrive you are made to feel at home by Aurelie who personally shows you around, and explains the hotel layout and dining arrangements.
The room we had was a large lake view and was clean and well laid out with bath and over shower, room 26.
The restaurant was well laid out overlooking the gardens , food to die for, certainly the best food I have ever had in any 3 star rated hotel, credit must go to Sebastian and his team for an excellent menu and well cooked presented food.
Breakfast was very relaxed with a good choice, with something to suit everyone.
The waiters and waitresses including Aurelie were very attentive and professional nothing was too much trouble and made time for everyone and took an interest in what you had been doing that day.
Bar service and pool, again were excellent and the large sheltered well maintained gardens was the icing on the cake to chill and relax after a day exploring the region of lake Annecy.
Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who was considering visiting this area. We will certainly be back next year

Room Tip: Lake view, with or without balcony as all rooms do have large open windows with shutters.
