“Excellent centrally located hotel with character”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2014 via mobile

We had a short break at the hotel and had requested quiet rooms on a higher floor. Great hotel in a superb location. It is on the expensive side especially as we did not go in high season. The staff were very helpful and as we were late arriving they organised lift passes and ski lessons for us. The pool area is disappointing so we did not use it. Although the rooms are small they are beautifully decorated albeit on the dark side. I did request another lamp which was provided immediately. The bedding, towels and bath robes are all changed daily which is wonderful. The bathrooms are ok but would be better if they had showers. We would definitely go back but would ask that the fridges be emptied thoroughly - a previous guest had left some suppositories in my fridge!

We booked a Ski Pass package with the hotel directly and from the resa desk to the concierge everything was professional and efficient. I ordered a few gifts for our birthday boy and they all arrived and received by the concierge, stored away and delivered to my room on arrival without a hitch. The reception area is next to a sitting / tea / drinks room, which made it very cozy and warm. There is always a roaring fire so both hotel and outside guests share a great atmospheric time. The buffet breakfast is one of the best in the world. Full of everything one ever wishes for, including a boil egg machine! Our room (Club) was large and the view wonderful. The only minor complaint is that the shower temperature gauge was not consistent - hot and then suddenly turned cold. Otherwise it is a great room. Its in house toiletries are organic and plentiful. The staff are all friendly. They organised the ski rental, ski pass, restaurant bookings and luggage storage (on our last day) without any fuss. If you have more than 3 nights in Megeve, the ski or other packages are well worth the Euro. I know it has 2 other sister hotels but I prefer this one. It is right next to the Chamois ski lift and ski rental shops. And on a snowy day the shops are within walking distance.

Room Tip: Choose a package if you have the time. Breakfast AMAZING!

The hotel has an excellent location, in the heart of Megeve , close to the telecabine and many of the shops and restaurants. In many respects this four star hotel is excellent, the breakfast is varied and very satisfying (continental and local), the residents’lounge is cosy and attractive and the staff generally efficient. Probably because the hotel is celebrating its 100 anniversary , it may not be possible to provide the modern amenities such as charging point for digital media and some of the lights was complicated to operate (or not working). For the price, the room is rather small and a bit disappointing. The hotel own 2 restaurants including one on the piste “the Alpette” also overpriced as the food was expensive and very average. However, the location, overlooking Mont Blanc is spectacular! Will may be back to this hotel.

This is a nice hotel and the location is great but the service was not as good as I would expect from this calibre of hotel. We repeatedly had to ask for service in the bar and I had to ask for more toilet roll twice. The lighting is terrible in the room too.

A great hotel, centrally located with friendly staff...we had a problem with the shutter on our window so we didn't have a great view...but the room was lovely, small but well decorated and with character.

We had an amazing family vacation. The hotel is warm and cozy. The location is perfect right at the center of Megeve and very close to the ski lifts. We would love to come back again but we need to save some money for the next occasion!! Personnel where nice but not specially warm.

Room Tip: Choose the connected suites if you travel with children.

I've just came back from this hotel. We went to Megeve for the WE. There was a Jazz festival (the 20th). The hotel is very good located in the city center. Our car was parked by the valet service of the hotel. We arrived at 12H00 and our room was not ready yet (which is acceptable) so we went for a relaxing walk in the city - the front desk was very welcoming , warm and helpful. We stayed in the club room - quite spacious and warm. our room (207) had a nice balcony facing the inner garden and the pool. the room was very quiet and the bed was GREAT (the Jazz festival was not heard in the room). A plate of petit-four and a bottle of Evian was waiting for us in the room. although the shower is big and clean , the faucet was an old fashioned one, which means , if you want to have the right temperature you need to find the right equilibrium between the right and the left sides (continuing turning it off-on , on both sides) which took me 2 minutes (at start too hot - boiling and the too cold - freezing). And during the shower itself without changing or touching anything, the water temperature changed (plumbing problem ???)
The breakfast (25 € per person) was rich and satisfying a good selection of charcuterie and cheeses as well as breads and pastries, orange and grapefruit fresh juice !!! the only thing missing (to my opinion) was some selection of fresh vegetables. All in all I had a lovely WE in this mythical hotel
