“Enjoyable dinner in Lyon Confluence Area”
Reviewed April 18, 2014 via mobile

The Brasserie Georges is adjacent to the Ibis Hotel. It's a very nice huge dining hall with nicely laid out tables and booths. We had a complimentary apertif (courtesy of a coupon from our hotel) while we reviewed the menu. Unfortunately our server didn't speak English, but we still managed to get the gist of the entrees. My wife decided to try the plate of the day which was fish. I selected the Andouillette Pork Sausage. Her entree came with a tasty sauce that included croutons, large capers and carrots and the side dish was new potatoes. My sausage arrived with a side of mashed potatoes and a delightful cream sauce. Presentation of both entrees was very nice. We both enjoyed our dinners and it was a totally satisfying dining experience. Prices were very reasonable.

“Brasserie Art Deco”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

Brasserie Georges is an institution in Lyon. Splendid art deco in this grand place where you might feel as if you were in Paris. They have their own brewery, you can see the old brass equipment and the beer is very good. :-)
The service is very professional and the food is correct. .Omelette Norvegienne is a specialty dessert. For birthdays they come to your table and play a tune on a hand organ and the whole restaurant applauds after.

“Specially on birthdays”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

It's a very typical old fashioned typical décoration of french "brasserie". Food is average but fine. If you go on birthday and order a "Norway omelette" indicating the purpose : waiters will cross the restaurant with sparkling fire on the dessert and birthday music thus making the whole attendees to applaude and sing for you ! My wife enjoyed.
