Stayed here a single night in Lyon while travelling south and was pleasantly surprised!

The newly renovated room was exceedingly clean and cosy, and was well heated (was -1 temperature outside) and was stocked with shampoo and 3 clean towels.

The bed was large, comfortable and also very clean. Free wifi was available in our room (with no issues) and was offered to us by the helpful older gentlemen at reception. Despite his not speaking English he was able to explain to us everything we needed to know about the room and showed us the way up. The stairs were not nearly as bad as everyone has commented, either.

Overall, a clean, newly renovated cute little room with everything you need while travelling: hot water, a shower and toilet and comfortable bed. The location is quite central aswell, near shops and fast food for quick bites to eat.

Would recommend to anyone travelling through Lyon for a few days.

Firstly, price is unbelievable for the location and a great breakfast in the morning! Friendly staff. Yep the hotel and rooms are fairly depressing but if you need a great location on a budget and don't require a view or a bright and modern room than I would recommend it. Walk to old town in about ten minutes. On a quiet street but a short walk to the metro. We only had one night in Lyon and I'd recommend more time here. If I was on a budget I'd stay here again, if I had money to burn I'd look elsewhere.

Hotel de Bretagne has a great location, walking distance to most sights, close to lots of restaurants and pubs, and very close to Cordeliers metro station. I got a room with a single bed with a comfortable mattress. Free wifi. On the minus side, no shower curtain. It's probably the best budget option in Lyon, as the hostels there are not centrally located like Hotel de Bretagne.

Positive points: it is at the city centre, in a safe area, very close to the touristic points. There is a supermarket near, close to the metro station. Quiet hotel. There is free wifi, TV. Quiet hotel. Friendly staff. Reasonable price to Lyon.
Negative points: far from the train central station(It is about 30 min by foot from central train station, 18 min by metro, there is a metro station 2 min by foot from the hotel). There isn't a 24h reception. Some staff don't speak english.
In general is a good place to stay, reasonable price for Lyon, in a central location, but a little far from main train station.

Wi-fi, phone and flat-screen TV, decent bedding and cleanliness. The location couldn't be more perfect. Don't expect charm or luxury; it's very basic but fair enough: it's also much cheaper than all the alternatives in this upscale neighborhood. Beware parking: the only possibility costs about 30€/day.

we stayed here for 1 night as a stop off gap before travelling to bordeaux so it was really just for somewhere to sleep....pretty easy walk from the train station and good area - if ur on a top floor the steps are pretty steep so not suggested if u have alot of luggage and the rooms are very standard - not the cleanest but comfy bed and did the trick! friendly and very helpful staff if you can understand enough french to get by!

This hotel is well located, in the very center of Lyon. It is probably the cheapest in this area. But the room and the bathroom were dirty : there were stains on the bedspread, the toilets were not really clean. The bathroom was ridiculously small... This is not a bad solution for broke students who spend one or two nights in Lyon. Otherwise, I would recommend you to select another hotel.
