It was our first time in Lyon. As often overall impression started from the hotel which was a great surprise! Great location, charming and welcoming owners, beautiful city...

If you are looking for an authentic experience that would help you to admire the city Le Jardin de Beauvoir is definitely a place to stay at!

P.S. We also enjoyed delicious and minimalistic breakfast)

P.P.S. Special thanks to owners - Nicolas et Mimi!

I am so grateful i now found my second home when visiting Lyon ! I appreciated very much the friendly welcome of Mimi and Nicolas . My room was great , spacious, immaculate and very quiet.Breakfast was "tip-top" as the Swiss say ! I look forward to be back in Lyon and stay over at the Jardin de Beauvoir in the spring when i return and enjoy the garden.

Room Tip: i certainly recommend the suite..

We had a lovely stay here with friendly hosts, excellent breakfast and a good night's sleep. The location is perfect as it's right near the funicular railway station so you can nip down into the old town in a few minutes and come back up after dinner. Hope to go back some time!

A wonderful place to stay awaits behind the high brick wall of Le Jardin de Beauvoir. Situated in the charming old part of Lyon, a short walk to the funicular.
Such gracious hosts, Mimi and Nicolas made us feel very welcome. Our room was fabulous, wonderfully comfortable bed and spotless bathroom. Everything had been thought of. Breakfast too was great, lovely fresh fruits, croissants and baguettes.
Our only regret was not booking and staying longer.
Thankyou Mimi and Nicolas

We are so glad that Mimi and Nicolas speak very good English. So for those who enjoy stay in B&B rather than in hotels, there won't be a communication problem if you speak hardly any French. Compared with the next hotel we stayed near the airport because we got a very early flight to catch on, the biggest room we stayed in Le Jardin is just like heaven. We enjoyed the beautiful trees, heart-warming host and hostess, delicious breakfast, lovely dog etc.. a lot. However, It would be nicer to have some curtains in the bathroom and kitchen though. And just like other reviewers mentioned, the stairs could be a problem if you are loaded with big luggage. But don't worry, Nicolas will help you with the luggage. They are really nice.

Our room was actually a beautifully remodeled, thoroughly modern suite high on a hill above Vieux Lyon. Walking distance to the Gallo Roman Museum, amphitheater and archeological site. The funicular to Vieux Lyon is close too but walking is not out of the question. The real treat is the hospitality afforded us by Mimi and Nicholas. We can not say enough about these warm and welcoming hosts. Coffee, croissants and baguettes with home made jams and yoghurt in the breakfast room of the main house was a highlight. We have been to France many times though this was our first time in Lyon. Our hosts were helpful with suggestions for things to do, places to eat and directions to nearby destinations like the delightful village of Beaune. Be forewarned there are lots of steps up to the hotel and to the rooms. It did not bother us at all but some may find it difficult.

Room Tip: No pool or fitness centre.

Mimi and Nicolas are charming hosts with first class taste and accommodations. We had the largest of their rooms, which have all been recently done. We were extremely comfortable, taken with what they have created, and happy to find a little kitchen for longer stays. Because the weather was lovely, they served a delicious breakfast in the garden. Everything is first class, the location is good, and the experience excellent. One issue for some travelers may be the stairs. There is a flight of stairs to enter the property and another flight to reach the room. Neither flight is terribly long but if you have difficulty walking, they could be a problem. We are of retirement age and the stairs were fine for us but the property is not handicapped accessible.
We will definitely come again.
