Such a great experience! My boyfriend and I visited Lyon for the weekend and stayed in the 'Suite du Gouverneur'--what a treat! It was a great location in the old part of Lyon. The flat was in the middle of everything yet the room was very quiet. My only complaint would be the lack of shower curtain so the the bathroom because quite wet after a shower!! Other than that, a wonderful local and authentic experience. I'd definitely recommend it and Jean Luc and Vincent were very helpful.

No question these are very cool looking rooms/apartments. There are four that I'm aware of within an older building in Vieux Lyon. All four have windows facing a small internal courtyard with circular stone stairs leading up to the rooms and other private apartments above. We slept two nights in the "Duplex du Change" suite. It was comfortable enough but the loft bedroom has safety glass between ceiling and landing that cuts airflow makes the air a bit stuffy. Initially we were placed in the "Suite Miroirs". We settled into our digs, showered and went out for a walk but after returning the landlord appeared and told us he'd put us in the wrong room and could we please hurry up and move to the other. Good thing I wasn't in my skivvies and half way through a bottle of Petite Chablis or I might have resisted. He was very apologetic and in any case we moved.

The kitchens were very well equipped in both apartments, everything was very clean (I did find a tub of frozen ice cream in one of the freezers though) comfortable and overall really quite charming. The rooms are quiet so no street noises.

Having spent a few hours in "Suite Miroirs" I kept thinking I'd have preferred to stay there rather than the "Duplex du Change". It felt more spacious and airy even though the only windows are off the kitchen on the lower floor and facing the courtyard. The shower cave is stylish and eye catching. The "duplex" however can view the windows from both levels. Windows were at least 12 feet tall so potential for lots of light if you open the curtains.

Room Tip: Pick the Suite Miroirs for overall ambiance.

I cannot think of a more special place to stay in Lyon. If soulless hotels are not your bag when you travel, but you rather want to be immersed in the place you are visiting, this place is for you.
We stayed in the LA SUITE DU GOUVERNEUR, which I understand, is a new property not yet on the website.
Located in the heart of Vieux Lyon, we actually got stares of jealousy in the street every time we came out of our beautiful wooden front door on rue saint Jean – one of the prettiest (pedestrianized) streets in the old town. The apartment is in a gorgeous renaissance building, full of character and charm. Our bedroom had gargoyles and a vaulted ceiling. The place has been recently re-done to 5 star standard: a beautiful bathroom, with shower and towel heater, a cosy fluffy bed, beautiful lighting – all whilst maintaining the gorgeous original features of the renaissance building.
Obviously being in the old town, it is a stone’s throw from anything you want to visit in the town. We walked to both stations (we arrived into Perrache from Geneva and used Part - Dieu to go to the quaint village of Perouges on the Saturday: highly recommended).
This is a self-catering place, it comes with a fully equipped kitchen corner but if, like us, you just want to taste the local delights, you have plenty of places on your doorstep to eat lunch, dinner and breakfast.
Thank you Jean Luc and Vincent for the wonderful stay – we actually fell in love with Lyon and hope to return soon and stay in one of your gorgeous apartments again.

Booked this for a 2 night trip mainly as it looked different and quite spectacular and for location. Location was superb. 5mins walk to cathedral and a few mins from main attractions in old town. The apartment i was in was split level and renovated in a modern minimalist style. It is self catering so be aware but there are boulangeries close by. We were met at the entrance and everything such as locks explained. It helps if you know a bit of French!! It is all set in a renaissance building and seems set apart from hustle and bustle but yet you are straight onto the main street in old Lyon. The overall package is great value,

Stayed for 1 night.
In the center of the old part of town a small apartment that has no outside light as the windows are facing the steps .However IT IS NOT A HOTEL-it is an apartment and being included in the list of hotels because of its name Mon hotel) is misleading.
Be aware that the owner hardely speaks any english and it is very difficult to get hold of him.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING experience in every way with Mon Hotel Particulier. Jean Luc greeted us and was warm and welcoming, helping us to settle in. We were the first guests to stay in Le Petit Change after the renovation. The attention to detail and design was wonderful. Not to mention the building, the entry way, ancient door & spiral stairway leading you up to the 2nd floor, where Le Petit Change is located.
There were little touches like business cards to restaurants nearby (which Jean Luc & Vincent recommended), also, a full kitchen with amenities. I should mention, the meal we had at Notre Maison (just one block away) was the best meal we had in ALL of France, hands down. The owner is incredibly cool & made us feel right at home.
Even when my boyfriend's luggage was lost by AirFrance, Jean Luc & Vincent were extremely helpful in communicating with the airline until the bag was delivered a few days later.
My boyfriend and I stayed for five days and it was so memorable. The location in Vieux Lyon (old Lyon) couldn't have been any better. I would HIGHLY recommend this property! I know we can't wait to return. THANKS AGAIN JEAN LUC & VINCENT. We'll be back!

Mon Hotel Particulier in Vieux Lyon was a highlight of my week-long trip to Lyon - stylish, modern, immaculate apartments in a beautiful historic building in an outstanding location - a winning combination. And the service provided by the hosts was exceptional. A definite 10 out 10.

Room Tip: We stayed in two different apartments. La Suite Miroirs and Le Duplex du Change were perfect for my...
