“Good for one but not for two”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

Starting with the positive, this hotel is in a great location with friendly staff and a good breakfast. It is surprisingly quiet at night for a central hotel and the free water in the room on arrival was a nice touch. However, the room was small and felt cramped. There was no safe in the room, no full length hanging space, a bedside light only on one side of the bed and no mirror except in the bathroom. The bed was small and uncomfortable for two people.
So this is a good choice for a short stay in transit or if you are on your own but not so good for a couple planning to stay more than a day or so.

Beautiful rooms, great location, unique small basement swimming pool that was a hit with kids. Very good option for a city visit. Would be ideal in the fall or winter to take advantage of hot tub. Walking distance to all of Lyon's wonderful museums.

My handsome beau and I stayed here for 3 nights. This hotel is in the heart of the city, so there's lots to do and see and eat. The rooms were small and cozy, but very well decorated and had nice amenities, such as robes and slippers. The hotel had a nice "pool" (that unfortunately was not working properly). Breakfast at the hotel was good. Hotel staff were courteous, but not particularly friendly. Be warned that if you are claustrophobic, you should get a room on a floor that you feel comfortable taking the stairs to; the elevator is smaller than a closet in a NYC apartment.

The one thing that really irked us about this place was despite leaving the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our room door, the housekeepers went in to tidy up anyway. It wasn't a huge deal, but we would've preferred if our wishes had been honored. Overall, our stay in this hotel was pleasant!

Thank you to Lisa at Beach Bum Vacations for booking us this hotel!

Stayed here for a four night break and had one of the Corbeille rooms. It was a double but I had single occupancy. There was plenty of room for one, but I could see how it would be 'cosy' for two, pleasant décor and well maintained. Bathroom smallish but well planned. Very impressed by the cleanliness of the room and the quality of the towels and bedlinen. Efficient air conditioning unit. I had a room at the back of the hotel and no problems with noise from traffic etc. Really good selection at breakfast. It's true that the breakfast room is next to the pool but I didn't find the smell/humidity too intrusive - the pool positioning just gives the hotel a bit of a quirky feel! Staff very welcoming and helpful at all times. You really couldn't do better in Lyon than to stay here - quite apart from what I've written above it's so central for both sightseeing and the shops and also the station.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quiet

This hotel perfect sums up period France. Situated on a small side street just one road from the Rhone. The decor is very classy with a lovely cosy feel to the room, the en-suite was very modern. Everywhere was exceptionally clean. The only let down was the view, but you know what, its in a busy city on the continent and somebody has got to have a room overlooking the other building at the rear. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

The location is perfect for bars, cafes, restaurants, and SHOPS!!! Lyon is absolutley gorgeous. Only downside,I could spend here like money was going out of fashion. If you get a chance take a small break here, probably not somewhere you would think of for a city break but you could do a lot worse than Lyon.

Sorry, would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the view in the room.

Room Tip: Get a room with a street view

What a great place. We stayed here for 2 nights. Lyon is such a beautiful city. We loved the older area full of cobblestone streets and ancient buildings. While the room was small and the bathroom quiet tiny - we loved the location and the fact thy it was so clean. Great reception staff who helped us reorganise our travel plans and reassured us that EasyJet was reliable. Reception staff even organised the transfer to the airport for our onward journey to Nice. Overall a boutique hotel that had a lot of character & charm. We totally fell in love with Lyon.

This is a delightful privately owned hotel enjoying a great location just off the Place des Terreaux in the Presqu’ile area of Lyon & within a short walk of the Metro station “Hotel de Ville”.
The original building is very old but has been charmingly modernised without losing its character.
The staff from the moment we arrived couldn’t have been more accommodating & they all spoke very good English which is always a great help. On a busy weekend for eating out they suggested & booked suitable excellent restaurants within our budget & all within a short walk from the hotel.
The breakfast which was included in our deal was great and as soon as anything was depleted it was filled up immediately. It was arranged in the area off the indoor pool so it could be a bit humid but there was another room further away if one wished.
Our room although quite small was attractively furnished & spotlessly clean. We were situated towards the back of the hotel and we heard no sounds from outside whatsoever but the street in any case seemed very quiet.
