Very nice hotel for a very short stay. Rooms are beyond small!. Bathroom definitely minuscule, but clean.
Very nice breakfast, very good location and very nice attention in reception. The pool is also quite small, but nice after a day walking around the city.

We stayed here for 2 nights to break a long rail journey home. The building's old but well modernised, and our room was clean and plenty big enough with an above average bathroom. One good night's sleep and one poor one....the latter down to having to keep the window open for climate control and a chain smoker who we suspect was the night porter chatting up a colleague on the patio below throughout the small hours.
Staff (night porter excepted) were very helpful and courteous, however, and the breakfast service was very good. Not sure about the swimming pool running alongside the restaurant, though, giving the place a sauna bath feel. Fortunately we got a table in the small annex next to the main eating area and kept the chlorine out of the croissants!
Hard to say how the hotel could rise above an overall average....but we'd concede they had good occupancy and have plenty of satisfied customers. Location is also good with most of what's worth seeing in Lyon inside 20 minutes on foot.

Room Tip: Inside facing are quieter - watch for noise rising from below, however, as there are small courtyard...

Just returned from 5 nights at this hotel. Lovely old building & walking distance of everything we wanted. Room very clean & decent size (We booked cordelia room & others did look much smaller). Hotel staff pleasant & helpful. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that although 15 euros does seem a lot to pay. Bar pleasant for nightcap.
Got a taxi from the station-17euros but bus C3 or C13 at 2 euros a much better option. Bus stops just along the road from hotel & takes about 10-15 mins. We took this on our return journey.

Room Tip: If you want a larger room upgrade to Cordelia

This hotel is centrally located and the staff are very helpful. There was a television with English channels. Our only complaint is that the room is small for two adults. There are a number of good restaurants nearby, especially Leon de Lyon.

We would definitely stay here again! Excellent location, charming, spacious and clean room, friendly helpful staff. Superior Dbl Room 304 had a desk w/chair, round table w/2 side chairs, dresser, wardrobe and luggage rack. King bed firm but very comfy. Spacious bath with good tub/shower combo, and big thick, soft towels. Individual AC unit cooled room very well. Room overlooked quiet street, and with windows closed, almost no outside noise. Although there were only plastic cups in the bath, the front desk staff offered us 2 wine glasses to take to our rooms for our evening wine! Beautiful bar in entry area.

Supermarket and boulangerie across the street from hotel, and lots of good restaurants nearby. We had 2 good meals at the Balmoral Italian restaurant next door, filled with locals ordering pizza each night. And definitely try La Creperie right down the alley in front of hotel – restaurant staff is very helpful with explanation of food items (not in English) – excellent food and prices!

We thought the breakfast was overpriced, and the pool adjacent to the breakfast room creates a spa-like environment (moist heat). A frige and tea/coffee pot in the room would have been nice.

Side note: for excellent taxi service to hotel from airport, email Francois at Prestige Taxi. He is wonderful!

Room Tip: definitely upgrade to Superior dbl, and ask for 304, which faces street but is very quiet at the end...

We stayed in this hotel for a weekend break to Lyon. It is in a great location, on a surprisingly quiet street in the centre of Lyon, perfect for exploring the city and also enjoying restaurants and drinks in the evening.

Our room was clean and well furnished, with a comfortable bed (a real double, not two singles pushed together) and a nice bathroom.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

The only drawback to the hotel was that the doors are not too soundproof, and there was noise from other guests for example in the mornings, earlier than we would have liked to have woken up. But I would not let this put me off staying here - it was nice to stay in a more local establishment than one of the big chains for a weekend in France.

We stayed at this hotel over the last 4 days and found this hotel to be a little gem. The front reception staff were delightful.....always helpful, suggesting restaurants and things to do in Lyon
Yes some of the rooms are small but that's common in Europe but the beds are very comfortable and rooms quiet. Only negative would be the plastic cups and only one bottle of water for our stay. The bar area is a good wind down. Close to everything and would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: At the back but no views!

Every detail shows the personality of this place which is brought to life by the passion of its staff and the soul of its Guests. This lovely hotel enjoys a prime location on the peninsula, not far from the Lyon Opera House and the Théatre des Célestins, just on the edge of the historic centre of Lyon with its many bistro-style restaurants (known locally as ‘bouchons’), and a stone’s throw from the Place des Terreaux and the Musée des Beaux-Arts.
