Our room was beautiful; actually the one pictured on Trip Advisor (Red & Cream). Beautifully appointed room, exceptionally helpful staff. Our flight was cancelled so we needed to stay another night. No problem! The hotel staff gladly booked us another night and cancelled our cab to the airport. They were very helpful in pointing us to the right restaurants and explaining the layout of the city. This hotel is close to everything! Would definitely stay again.

Our room was large and had excellent air conditioning. Large well lit bathroom with good shower (although water leaked from the partial glass screen onto the floor). Small hanging closet did not enable us to hang all our garments.
The room was very quiet despite being on the street side near the underground exit. Several restaurants within easy walking distance.
The hotel faces the large piazza across which is is the SNCF office (good for changing or buying your rail tickets), tourist office is in the plaza for all the guidance you may require.
Staff were pleasant and accommodating.
We did not take advantage of the hotel restaurant, but as it is Paul Bocuse inspired it should be quite good.
This was a bit expensive (350 euro/nite) but in our estimation well worth it as the facilities are excellent and it is very well positioned in the old city.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in a junior suite. The suite had a living room, separate bedroom and 2 bathrooms. There was a coffee machine and a small fridge in the room?It was on the third floor and had a great view of bellecour Square. It is easy walking of most of the sights and many restaurants. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night ,which is used as a training college. It is good value and a high standard of food.We had breakfast here on the last morning and at 25 euros each it is not cheap but the quality and variety was very good.
The concierge recommended a restaurant to us on the second night based on our request for Lyonaise food.He said you will feel like you have walked into someone's home.It would not have been everyone's cup of tea,as it was casual and nothing fancy about it,but we had an excellent night and had a style of food like never before.
We had problems on our last morning due to a train strike and we had booked and paid to go to Nice. The hotel staff helped us find a car hire place and helped us with the GPS that only talked French and at least keyed in the address for us so we had visual assistance for the trip.
I would have given the hotel 5 stars ,but for what you pay it is a little worse for wear.Example, tiles lifting in bathroom and the exterior is in bad need of a paint. The shower also changed temp at will and was not a pleasant experience.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend paying more for a view over the square ,as it is enjoyable to have a drink and watch life go by.

Room Tip: Worth paying for a view of square

We had the rotund suite on the top floor and it was just perfect! Plenty of room. It felt like a little apartment in the heart of Lyon, with beautiful views of the Square and the river. We loved it so much sometimes it was hard to leave. But when we did, we were able to walk just about everywhere we wanted to go from here. If I had to find anything negative to say, it would be about the bedding. this hotel hasn't quite caught on to the merits of luxury bedding. Our sheets were rough enough that I actually scraped my elbow on them one night, and the comforter was lacking in loft. beyond these very minor discomforts we loved it here! highly recommend!

Room Tip: Ask for a rotund suite!

The most striking thing about this hotel is their excellent service. We have been to lots of European hotels but the staff here goes beyond the call of duty. Complimentary drinking water and chocolate is given every day, and the reception staff always greet us with a smile whenever we return. We feel very welcome here indeed. Location is right next to the Place Bellecour overlooking the Old Lyon, so the view is excellent. You can actually see the metro station and the TI 100 metres from the hotel. It is also close to lots of shopping, and we were able to easily get a micro-SIM card up and running from a nearby SFR shop. The hotel is very clean, and renovation is recently done. The school of Paul Bocuse is located at the hotel and so the restaurant here is rather nice; we had 2 lunches here at very affordable prices. We have cheap breakfast by buying from a cafe nearby.

We will definitely come back here again!
