Hotel looks very nice, furniture/TV are new, and the bath was huge! Only had the buffet breakfast, it was good. Probably the menu for breakfast is standard in all Ibis in France because we had the exact same menu in 2 different hotels.
Also, it is very close to the Perrache metro station (actually a lot of other transports: bus, tram, train too), end of line A.
Now, the things not so good:
- train station is very close and you can hear some of the trains.
- it has no parking. In front of the hotel the paying parking allows maximum 3 hours of stay. There is a public parking across the street but to get in you have to make several turns, and is not so cheap (~15E/day)

At 60-70 euros per night for two, the Ibis Perrache offers good value, but keep in mind that this is a no frills hotel and not for those who are used to 4-star comfort or above. However, it does its job: the room is comfortable and clean, as is the bathroom (small, shower only, but it works well), and there is a small restaurant downstairs, as well as a computer with free internet. There is also a huge restaurant right next door (Brasserie Georges) which looks like a giant canteen and offers a bit of a surreal dining experience.

The downside of the hotel is that the area it is in (right next to the Perrache train station) is a bit sketchy, so some people might feel a bit uncomfortable walking around there. However, once you cross the Place Carnot and get into the city, you are right in the middle of a shopping street and within walking distance of the old town.

Overall, good value and ok as a stopover spot, but not a place to stay at if it is a special occasion. If you are traveling by train, pay attention to the train station you are arriving and departing from: it might well be Part-Dieu and not Perrache, in which case you can check the Ibis or Novotel next to Part-Dieu, which might be more convenient.

The Ibis Lyon Centre hotel is located downtown, between Bellecour, Tête d.Or park and the Gerland Technopôle. Close to a metro station and numerous typical Lyon restaurants, this 100% non-smoking hotel has 53 air-conditioned rooms. It has a bar servinglight meals and snacks 24/24, private covered paying parking and outdoor closed parking. Guests on a business trip have Wifi wireless broadband Internet access.

Room Tip: Non smoking rooms only
