Me and my partner really enjoyed our stay here. The bed was really comfy, and room was very clean. Member of staff spoke English, Spanish and French, whichh was refreshing. The resturant was enough to make me want to revisit, great price and quality service! An all-round great experience, best I have stayed in so far in Lyon. Everything was just perfect!

This hotel is located only a few blocks away from Perrache train station, which makes things easier for you to get around. There is a grocery store nearby; also, there are plenty of small restaurants and bakeries that are within walking distance. I would definitely stay there again.

The location is perfect to explore the city because everyting is just a few minutes away.
The rooms are nice, big and clean.
Breakfast buffet is not amazing but more than enough.
Would recomand it to anyone who wants a cheap hotel in a good location.

Today, I departed the coach station at Lyon Perrache with tears in my eyes as I left this wonderfully enchanting city. It broke my heart.

I gave them a call on Monday (3/3/14) to say I would be arriving late at night the following day and they were ever so cool about it saying somebody is always on call. That's not as common in hotels as some may think.

My coach arrived at the Eurolines station at 11.35pm Tuesday night. The directions to the hotel were excellently signposted when you left the station, but exiting the station was a bit of a maze if i am to be completely honest with you!

DIRECTIONS TO FOLLOW:
1. Disembark and walk through the Eurolines office
2. Turn right (away from the tramline and the metro) and go up the escalator
3. Walk straight ahead past the restaurants and continue straight and follow the path for as long as you can. This will take you to a series of escalators. On the way to these escalators you should pass through the concourse of Gare Lyon Perrache - one of Lyon's many railway stations
4. Go down all 3 escalators.

Signs from here will direct you to the hotel (and others - Lyon is AMAZING for this at public transport hotspots, and it does this for attractions too), but basically keep going straight when you exit the station, take the 2nd left and it will be near the end of the road on the right hand side opposite a green-coloured bar/café.

Hotel staff are always willing to go out of their way for you and they will give you wifi details if you request for them. The wifi takes about 10-15 minutes to turn on the first time, but no problem.

The stairs to my room were no problem, but i wasn't really a great fan of the elevator it was like being on an aeroplane flying through turbulence when you going down. Going up was ok though.

The room was always well presented, cleaned everyday, furniture in great condition, a lovely shower and a great welcoming pack, Television channels were a good choice even a few for those who do not speak a word of French. Considering the proximity to the Italian and Swiss borders (both within about 2 hours) there are some channels there too in Italian. Occasionally the signal wasn't great though at certain times in the evening on the international channels.
The ONLY problem I had was that there were countless light switches, but a real lack of electrical sockets for devices, which isn't ideal if you're coming on a business trip or even just to charge your phone at night like I did. I had one by the main door and one just below the hairdryer in the bathroom. Considering the size of the room, it wasn't exactly convenient, but it did the job.

The décor of the hotel corridor was intriguing and very eye catching. There are directions to the hotel bar (which i didn't use) and the cafeteria for breakfast. The breakfast was a little bit pricey, but they did put on a very good spread nonetheless and the quality of the food was brilliant. The staff were always very welcoming. Though i did try to conceal that I speak English as my mother tongue (I am in France on a year abroad currently), they were very polite in what limited English they could speak and tried very hard.

The room provides a lot of info on the area (by the tv remote upon arrival) and their other hotels which are dotted all around metropolitan France.

This morning, before I left, I needed to print off my boarding pass for the coach home again as I had misplaced it when I arrived, and they did this free of charge for me. All you have to do is email them the document and it will be waiting for you in reception when you arrive. I believe they charge for anything over 5 pages, but i only found this out to be with the faxing (said in the guide, i didn't use it) facilities, so i can't comment on whether it's the same for printing in general.

Overall, a great experience, a lovely hotel which i will recommend to any of my fellow friends from university in the UK, or just from my hometown who are looking for somewhere to stay, should they decide to choose to visit Lyon.

Room Tip: The metro station office is adjacent to the Eurolines arrivals and departures (where you walk throug...

The hotel is close to the Perrache train station, which would be very useful if you can get a train to Perrache. Even if you aren't taking a train, it's convenient to be able to get baked goods and snacks there at any time. The neighborhood is nice enough with lots of small restaurants and things nearby. I recommend the kebab place on Cours Charlemagne. The hotel staff are all very friendly: I only spoke to them in French, but I believe they speak English as well. The rooms are clean and well lit, but very drafty. My biggest complaint would be how hard the mattresses and pillows are; I can't imagine why someone would manufacture or buy pillows like the ones in our room. It was like sleeping on a dictionary. There's a coin operated pool table in the bar that looks fun. Overall, I thought it was a fine value and a good spot for exploring Lyon. I would stay here again.

We chose this hotel because we came by train and it is very close to the station (5 min. walk). The room was very small and old-fashioned. The breakfast-buffet okay, but the room cold and ugly (like a cellar). Staff very friendly and helpful. You could hear everything from the rooms close by.

This vintage hotel is located not too far from the city center and quite close to the Confluence shopping centre. Rooms are very small and basic but they’re OK if you don’t spend too much time inside. The room and the bathroom were clean but would probably need some refurbishment.
Breakfast was OK, the selection was satisfactory even though the dining room is in the basement with no windows. The hotel is also used by groups so you can expect you’ll crowded elevators at breakfast.
