We stayed here during the light festival, it was a fantastic location. Staff very helpful, rooms clean. Didn't try the breakfast although it looked good. We picked up some groceries in a near by convenience store, economical way to start the day. We shared an apartment we our daughter and her boyfriend. Very comfortable, well stocked kitchen if you had wanted to cook meals. We found that there were enough local restaurants to keep us going.

We stayed at the Citadines Lyon Presqu'ile during the "fête des lumières".
Although it was really full, the staff was friendly and very helpful. The location is perfect for exploring the center on foot.
The rooms are a bit old and the déco a bit depressing but it's good value for money and spotlessly clean, beds are comfortable (even the sofa one).
Kitchen is nicely equipped for a short stay and even has soap and towel and a dishwasher including tablets!
Only point not well organised is the luggage room which is self service so I guess you wouldn't want to leave anything of value in there.

This hotel is right in the middle of the malls, restaurants and very close to the river. It is a great location if you want to stroll the riverbank, walk across to the old sights, (great night-time lighting of the views,) and check out the buskers, the pubs and restaurants, and just wander the streets with the passing parade.

We hugely enjoyed our short stay in this hotel. We liked the chance to make our own breakfast, our twin-bedded room was quiet, bright and fresh, the beds were good, the bathroom was fine and above all the location was marvellous. The hotel is more or less on top of one of the jolliest little streets in the Presqu'ile, full of restaurants and bars and a step away from the Jacobins and Celestins squares and a new footbridge leading across the Saone to Vieux Lyon. Many of the best sights in Lyon are within easy walking distance. If you want to make your own breakfast &c there is an excellent greengrocer on the corner, a lovely baker and a Casino branch in the street just behind and a huge and wonderful open-air market all along the bank of the Saone a few steps away. HOWEVER, there are a few potential drawbacks. The public areas are rather rundown, the hotel breakfasts looked a bit thin for the money and there are enormous difficulties to be overcome if you are arriving by car. We have raised this last point with the parent company who have promised action! This part of Lyon is a warren of narrow streets some of which are guarded by movable bollards, and most of which are one-way. You should insist on being given explicit instructions in advance by the hotel on how to approach the site and how to get to them in order to collect the keycards you will need in order to to get through the bollards at the end of the street which leads to their garage (which is separated from the hotel entrance by fixed bollards). The Citadines section is at the very bottom (levels 5 and 6) and is guarded by a barrier the controls for which are several metres before the barrier and not visible from it! I hope that forewarned will prove forearmed!

Room Tip: Ask for one at the back. I suspect the front ones could be noisy until quite late. Also in some room...

My husband and I stayed here for 10 days in October, and were most pleased with the location: central to everything, and within easy walking distance to the (major) Bellecour metro station. The trip was partly business, for me, and vacation for both of us.
We opted for a studio rather than a one-bedroom, so the room was a bit small for such a long stay, but had everything we needed: the kitchen was especially useful, and there was more storage space than we could have used in a month. The hotel does show some signs of wear and tear, but was clean, and the staff was very efficient and helpful. We had a problem with one of the washing machines while trying to do laundry on a Saturday, and one of the housekeepers worked for an hour until she managed to get the door open so we could rescue our clothes.
The breakfast is convenient and good value; the coffee machine, available all hours, is particularly good.

Room Tip: Try for a room on a high floor and/or not on the street (front) side, so if you need the windows ope...

We stayed for 4 nights to visit the city (again) and include a concert. The location could not be better, so central, right at the end of the Rue Merciere, Lyon's 'Rue Gourmand', all the main sights on the Presqu'ile and in Vieux Lyon are within walking distance, to go further afield the Metro is 5 minutes walk away, as is the excellent supermarket of the Monoprix. We took a one bedroom apartment for the two of us as we like space to spread out, the living and bedroom were both of adequate size, bathroom had everything one would expect, separate toilet and the standard Citadines kitchen, fridge, two rings, combi oven, mini-dishwasher, kettle, toaster, and sufficient pots and pans, plates cups and glasses etc. Again the standard Citadines supply of sponge, cloth, washing up liquid and a few dishwasher tablets. We were satisfied and would return.

I note reading some of the other reviews that those who like to find something to complain about did so with this property. It is true the place is shabby. I understand that Citadines is in the process of upgrading all properties in Europe, this one hasn't been done yet, however with the beautiful city of Lyon on the doorstep we found better things to do than fuss about the condition of the furniture and the quality of the decor. The Citadines website clearly states that the apartments are only serviced once a week, this is not a hotel after all, so that should not come as a surprise to anyone, though I believe one can pay for more frequent service. Futhermore I just can not understand who would take the breakfast offered downstairs in the reception area. There are several bakers in the area open early 7 days a week, plus plenty of others shops and the huge Sunday market along the river around the corner, and a perfectly adequate kitchen to prepare your own.

My advice to potential guests would be to identify your priorities. If you want hotel service and state of the art decor and furnishings then this is probably not for you. If you want to be bang in the centre of Lyon, have space to spread out, and the facilities for basic self-catering then this is a good option.

Although the property is showing its age with wear and tear, the manager has assured us they are about to update the facilities. The Apartment was very user friendly and suited the family well. Lyon is a great place to explore. You can walk to the local produce market and many great cafes and bars. Across the footbridge you can walk the old section of the city.

Room Tip: Beware of the noise from the bars below and be aware that there is no air conditioning only heating.
