I got a good deal for the Sofitel through booking.com and so I splurged and stayed there for 4 nights. The room was spacious enough and very comfortable. Typical ameneties for a hotel of this caliber were included, iron, safe, TV, a clock radio with iPod dock. Surprisingly internet service was also included, for which many upper tier hotels charge as much as 15 euros a day or 80 euros a week. The service of the staff was very attentive and most of the staff had a good command of English. The location around the corner from Place Bellecour made it easy to reach and easy to go out from. The restaurant on the eight floor was simply fabulous and had a wonderful view of the city. Like the hotel, it was not cheap. My meal was approximately 100 Euros, but it was one of the best I've ever had. Overall this is the nicest hotel I've stayed at in Lyon, but the luxury comes at a price.
