Very moving museum in the old military hospital taken over by the Gestapo during the war. Plenty of things translated into English apart from the Klaus Barbie trial film. My French is ok and you can certainly hear the emotion in the witnesses voices but I couldn't catch everything so some subtitles would have been nice.

I had no idea how hard the French Resistance fought the Nazis and the brutal price some of them paid. This museum is definitely worth a visit. There were more than enough English language exhibits and multimedia to satisfy my wife and I. As many have noted, it was chilling to be in the headquarters of the Butcher of Lyon, to see a full Nazi flag and concentration camp uniform, among other artifacts. The first-person videos on what it was like were very interesting. We spent about two hours.

We rented bikes to cycle over to this museum from the old town and it was a piece of cake getting there and back.

Visiting the old Gestapo HQ for me, as a history buff, was very moving. The memorabilia from that scary past was first class. This is the home of Klau Barbie, the butcher of Lyon , was HQed.
Unfortunately English is not given much billing since most everything is in French. Just make some of the exhibits more assessable for English speaking tourists. Staff was very helpful.
No real brochures except the $37 book on the building. Glad I went...Scary place.

Very friendly staff and an interesting & thought provoking exhibition. No doubt french speakers would get more out of the museum, but there is enough English content to make it worthwhile

A very informative museum about life in Lyon during the German occupation and the organisation of resistance in the city. It is actually located in the former HQ of Klaus Barbie. Don't miss the film featuring edits from the Barbie trial.
