If it's something to do in Lyon, that's the one! View ia amazing and the Basilique is juste amazing. How they built this?? Also you have a little restaurant here for an early evening with local speciality, perfect for night lights view.

“Beautiful”

A very peaceful cathedral set on the hill above the city. Welcomed in by staff even although there was a mass taking place at the time. Beautiful stained glass windows and mosaics

“Location, location . . . .”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

Dominating Lyon from above the Saone this 20th century icon provides all that you might expect from a modern construction. Well finished and presented, scrupulously clean and clearly a well used place of worship it did not meet the grandeur of the nearby cathedrals of St. John the Baptist. Worthwhile stooping point nevertheless on the Lyon bus tour. Couple up with the roman remains; the use of the amphitheatre is impressive.

“stunning!”

We took the funicular up to it as it was 33°c and those steps looked way too daunting!

Absolutely beautiful basilica and the views are amazing.

“The most beautiful cathedral yet”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

We've seen many cathedrals in Europe, and still we felt obliged to visit yet another. I'm very happy we did - the neo-Byzantine mosaics, the huge vaulted ceilings, the gold inlay everywhere - it wasn't a ruin of a cathedral, it was how the other cathedrals beg you to imagine what they once looked like.
