This is a sister restaurant to famous chef's, Paul Bocuse's other restaurants.I had an amazing french onion soup, but the main dish wasn't anything special considering the prices and reputation this restaurant has. There was a bit of an atmosphere but it wasn't packed considering it was a Friday night. I felt it was maybe more suitable for business dinners. All the staff were friendly and it wa efficient so haven't got many complaints.

Had dinner with a group of friends here and was hoping to really enjoy our meal. Took the three course set dinner and was really delighted with the lovely chicken velouté. This was the best soup I've had so far on this trip. Sadly my salmon main course was a letdown as it was overcooked. Finished it off as I didn't really want to send food back but felt really disappointed. Four of us on the table had salmon and mine wasn't the only overcooked one. The kitchen needs to work on consistency! Dessert was lovely cottage cheese with fruit.

Service staff were friendly polite n prompt. Overall good value for money, pity that my main dish didn't quite meet the mark though.

Great food in a relaxing atmosphere makes this a great dining experience in Lyon, as are the sister restaurants l' Est and l'Ouest

We decided to try out Brasserie le Nord whilst in Lyon and arrived without a reservation and were given a table by a friendly and welcoming service staff member. The service is impeccable, friendly and professional. Sabrina and Audrey were lovely and friendly and made a point of speaking English to us. The brioche in the bread basket was excellent. Loved the Lyon Saucisson as an aperitif was really nice and authentic. The decor and ambiance is wonderful. Our only criticism was that the poached egg on the Salad Lyonnaise, was that the egg white was 60% raw which spoit the salad a little. The Seabass and Chou Croute were traditional and is what French Brasserie Cookery is all about. All in all it was a enjoyable meal.
The last time I met Chef Bocuse was in 1984 when I cooked a traditional Cape Fish BBQ for him in Cape Town South Africa. It is admirable that he is fighting to ensure cookery tradition and the chefing profession is maintained in this world of fast food. We will be back, in two years.

This is supposed to be one of Paul Bocuse - supposedly a pioneer of French cuisine - brasseries so I had high expectations.
If you are not a fan of Lyonnais-peasant-like food, don't go here as you won't find anything edible on the menu.
I chose what I thought was a safe choice - a green market salad for starter and chicken in mushroom sauce for the main course, at euro 6 and eur 27 respectively.
Well the salad was a watery full lettuce stuffed in a bowl with some olive oil & salt drizzled over it: totally in impressive, boring and tasteless.
Then the main course arrived: the chicken was basically a mound of fat & bones with some plain rice & a sauce the same color as the chicken... No vegetables, no garniture, no detail or color on the plate. Simply disgusting. I sent it back & left hungry.
And as usual in France, when you dare to criticize their wonderful cuisine, they ignore you. Well Paul Bocuse, is this the best you can come up with these days? Boney fatty chicken and a head of salad leaves?
