“Great Location”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

First up, this is pretty much the worst place to get to by car. It's easy enough to find, but there is nowhere to stop to unload luggage. It is on a street that you can't drive down and the next street over is one lane and far too busy to stop on. After driving past and realising this, you are then stuck in a crazy maze of one-way streets. It goes without saying that there is no parking provided - the closest free parking is at the top of a very steep hill (not ideal if you've got a bit of luggage).

The apartment we stayed in was on the fourth floor and there is no elevator. The apartment was a little shabby looking, but very clean and adequate enough. Once you climb all of those stairs to get to the apartment, you will find the bedroom up another flight of stairs, but the toilet is located downstairs. Consequently, I would not recommend this place for anyone with any sort of mobility issues.

The bed only had a sheet on it. We stayed in summer, but I would still like a blanket or doona or something. We found something in the cupboard which I presumed to be for this purpose, but it seemed to be made out of curtain material rather than bedding. The pillow (and that is singular - it was one roll thing for the queen bed) was not the best. Minor complaints, but maybe important if you like a comfortable night.

The owner requires a 300 Euro bond and a rental agreement signed, even if you're just staying the night. I haven't ever been asked to do that and I felt a little awkward about it. The owner does seem very honest and genuine, so I can't imagine that you would have any problems (as long as you treat the place with a reasonable amount of respect).

On the positive - you could not find a better location. When you step out of the building you are literally in the best part of town. There is an abundance of great restaurants right on your doorstep and the whole neighbourhood has a really great vibe about it. As a consequence of being up so high, you have some great views. Our apartment had views on all four sides. There was a great view of the church up the hill and Saint-Jean seemed so close you could almost touch it from our window.

I was happy with the place for the night, but I was glad that we weren't staying longer. I thought it a little overpriced compared to other places we stayed.

Room Tip: Remember you're probably going to have to park a while away and definitely going to have to walk...

We had a lovely stay in this charming apartment which was clean and warm. The kitchen was modern and fully equipped with all the required utensils and white goods. I especially loved the washing machine which was a joy to use when you were on the road The location of the apartment is excellent and the view of the Cathedral Saint Jean at night is beautiful. Even late at night there are people coming to the square and look at the cathedral. The ringing of the bell didn't affect us, we all slept well every night. We will certainly go back to this apartment should we visit Lyon again.

This is the place to stay if you want to be in the very heart of Old Lyon. With the two cathedrals on the doorstep, and the vibrancy of the immediate area, then look no further. There are a considerable number of stone steps to climb, but we managed them, and both of us aged 70 plus! The stunning views made it worthwhile.
The accommodation was perfect for 2 people, spotlessly clean, and a very comfortable bed to come back to each day.
We wouldn't hesitate to book again for any future visit.

On a lovely cobbled street just next to Cathedral Saint Jean you will find this charming apartment. Perfectly set up for a couple and with the potential for a third person on the mezzanine, you will be delighted by views to the cathedral across rooftops and most spectacular to the Basilica on the hill. The accommodation is set up very well to make use of this small and quirky space. Surprisingly, there is a kitchenette with cooktop and fridge, all kitchen necessities, a table and chairs, lounge, washing machine/dryer, separate bathroom, bedroom and very good wireless. Everything is spotless and thoughtful. I stayed here for two nights on my own and it was a very safe and a perfect location for me to explore the old city. Beatrice is absolutely lovely and will point you in the right direction for the best places to eat on the nearby Rue de Boeuf and the other delights of Vieux Lyon. I loved this apartment and will remember it as my creative little nest whilst in Lyon- highly recommended!

Room Tip: Cote Sud is the other apartment with views right onto the square, however be aware that the cathedra...

If you want to be in the heart of old Lyon then this is the apartment for you. We loved the location and view we got from this charming apartment. The apartment had a seperate bedroom, bathroom, lounge and kitchen. The kitchen was well equiped, large fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. Little extras like sugar, tea, coffee and oil along with the complimentary orange juice made it even more perfect. Bathroom was modern and very clean and hair dryer was a bonus. We wish we had of stayed longer, 2 nights wasnt long enough to see all the sights in Lyon. The 79 stairs to the apartment was a bit tiring at times especially when carrying our very large suitcases but it really is worth the stay here.Beatrice was very kind and helpful with where to go and eat and what sights to see in our limited time. I would definately stay here again.

We stayed in the Cote Quest for 2 nights and it was amazing. It is well located in the middle of the best food streets in Lyon and with a metro station nearby. Apart from the amount of stairways to climb, the apartment was very clean and tidy with a beautiful view of the old town. Do look out for the night view of the castle and church from your bedroom window. Thank you Beatrice for the kind accommodation and restaurant arrangements for helpless tourist like us. Thumbs up!

Had 4 nights in this very well equipped and nicely furnished apartment in the delightful Vieux Lyon area. It's in a great location next to the cathedral (with its lovely bells day and night) and about a 1 minute walk from Vieux Lyon metro station and 5 min walk across River Saone to Bellecouer. Perfect for the two of us tho' might be cosy for four? Rue St Jean is parallel to Rue de Boeuf with v good restaurants - thanks to Beatrice's recommendation we had a superb meal at Jeremy Galvan's.
