Did not find it in tourist books, but through local concierge and it showed in the other clientele - may locals and French visitors.

1. Restaurant and decor - The restaurant is a vey well renovated old building (first used as Jesuit accommodation) in downtown Lyon in an unassuming street. The decor was a delicate blend of old and new, that worked to produce a relatively formal yet comfortable environment.
2. Service - the young maitre de spoke English well and was happy to interpret the only French menu. The other staff did not show English speaking until later, but handled the service well and efficiently.
3. Food - Mushroom soup with adornments (see photo) and beef main (see photo) were both flavoursome, contained surprises (pleasant) and well presented. Wife likewise enjoyed her scallops and fish. Intervening pallets cleansers were also well done.
4. Allergies - Wife's gluten free allergic requirements were well handled, and courses changed as required.
5. Wines - The Saint Joseph red recommended (straight Syrah) was excellent as was the white.
6. Value - The meal was not cheap but was good value.

As per the title: the food is excellent, well presented, the portions are good, but - oh boy! - you have got to wait for it! I did not see any apparent reason for that, as the waiters surely do not linger, but all the same it seemed that everyone sitting in the restaurant was fed up with the wait...

Excellent food and service. The waiters were really friendly and professional, not pushing to take the most expensive food and for example. The menu "lumiere", especially created for the "festival of lights" early December, was really interesting, mixing flavours and texture like in a this foie gras and truffle foam. The wines were really good and the bill affordable (approximately €80 per person all included).

We (4 in total) had dinner here on a Saturday night at the end of November 2012. The wine was excellent (red Givry), the food and amuse-bouches were simply divine and perfectly thought-out.

We most enjoyed the scallops with a light truffle foam, the duck and the dessert (a sort of chocolate cake with pecan/maple syrup ice cream to die for). The atmosphere is nice - exposed rock walls and big tables, with thick white tablecloths.

The service was so disorganized (who is the sommelier? who is the waiter? who clears the table? I have no idea!) and out of place for the quality of the restaurant. It became a problem mid-way through our meal, and delays meant that although we arrived at 20H30... we left after midnight. I hope this was an off evening, because the service was really unacceptable.

The food was exceptional, however, and we will return soon to try the other dishes.
