“Fine, small, tasty”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

I have discovered this restaurant years ago. By the time they have evolved towards a Michelin star, their cuisine became more and more flavorful, tasty, they have used more and more interesting combinations in a dish.
Today, they became a well secures one-starred place, with simple, but elegant service and a food, which you expect while eating in France in such a kind of a place. Not big surprise, but very deep in flavors!

“Great 1 star ..should be more??”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

Having dined at La Mere Brazier the night before we looked forward to comparing a lesser starred restaurant so close together. We thoroughly enjoyed Le Gourmet de Seze and found it difficult to choose which we preferred.

The dining room has a soft calm atmosphere and the young waiting staff were terrific. Well done to them...polite, knowledgeable and friendly. Warm welcome, straight to table and menus promptly offered.

I had just about the best scallops I have ever had, and I like scallops, but not so keen on the bed of pea purée. It is too sweet with the sweetness of the scallops. The ris de veau was beautifully presented and just delicious. The star here is the pastry chef. My compliments for delicious and varied and expertly created desserts. I am a dessert fiend and could have had seconds of each one of my 5 desserts ( the selection of 4 plus my mille feuille!), followed by perfect cheeses. This was rounded off by a melt in the mouth glass of chocolate with brandy snaps. A well balanced meal cooked to perfection and artistically plated.

We enjoyed every course and would rate this as a very deserving, and even more, of one star. We would return for sure.

As an aside, chef said a farewell to his guests at the front door and thank goodness I said good night as a mere 5 metres from his door a huge lump of concrete fell from a building and landed not 1 metre in from of us, a mere step or two, right in the middle of the footpath. It was so large it would have been curtains for us. A very lucky escape.

“Wonderful food, especially the desserts”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

I cannot speak highly enough about htis restaurant. Our hosts said it was known for its desserts which was hard to believe as everything was so lovely. But when the desserts (and it is plural) you will know what they meant. Gorgeous french food at its best.

“Still just as good”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

I returned after a year and this place maintains its high standards of food and service. Each dish was a little adventure in flavor, truly music for the mouth. The finale of the dessert dishes, a small fruit concoction, was akin to fireworks, truly. A splendid experience - don't miss it!
