We had just arrived in Evian and our hosts kindly made a table reservation for us at this hotel's restaurant in the lovely outdoor section. The food was very good and considering the large seating capacity, (no empty seats), the service was perhaps not the fastest in the world but nonetheless perfectly adequate to allow a relaxing meal. Our hosts' recommendation of this restaurant was fully justified and we would happily return there.

The staff and service where the worst experience I faced during my trip in France. The restaurant staff struggled to do the simple things well and the food was bland and tasteless.

The check out was a shambles and I had to a explain there over charging mistakes to get them fixed. Having stayed at other much less expensive 4 and 5 star hotels in France I was disappointed with my stay and will avoid "Hotel Les Cygnes" from this point on.

We stopped at Les Cygnes by chance. We eat outside under the shade of the grapes with a lake view, the place is cosy and clean. The personnel is friendly and they make you feel welcome.
The food is awesome! Presented in a gourmet way. It is really worth going!!

After reading the reviews we still booked a weeks holiday at this beautiful very French hotel. On arrival we were shown a very well kept, clean, decorated room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and could not do enough for us,the food was excellent, there was a good range at breakfast time were all the tables overlooked the lake. The evening meals were well worth waiting for. there was plenty to do in the surrounding area to suit all tastes. we both loved this hotel and would certainly go back.A BIG THANKYOU to all the staff at les cygnes for making this such a wonderful holiday. they do not deserve such bad comments.

Despite the negative comments below, I loved this hotel. Myself and my husband stayed here for two nights on a motorbike trip around Europe. While it is not to everyones taste (including my husbands), the rooms were full of quirky bits and pieces which made them more like home than a hotel. Yes, the rooms were on the small side but the views over the lake were lovely. The staff couldn't have been nicer and let us park our motorbikes behind a locked gate. They were always so helpful and I can't say a bad word about them. The private access to the lake was fantastic and it was great to be able to go for a dip each morning.
This is not like your average hotel so if you are looking for something spacious and minimal then this place is not for you but if you like a bit of old world charm and don't mind the hotel dogs prowling around then this is just the hotel.
