After yet another cold skiing morning in early February we called into the Bel Air for a chocolate chaud. We were so impressed by the warm welcome of the maitre d' and the smiling staff , that we booked in for lunch. Wonderful views , attentive service and a superb mixed salad special added up to a great choice of restaurant.

A party of us lunched here last week. It was humming as ever but the service and food were as good as we have come to expect. It may be that because one of the party owns a local chalet and eats here often that we were marked out for well paced service and the best the kitchen could offer; but, seeing this ranked #1 in Courchevel seems close to right. It is not pretentious and for the location not too pricey.

The maitre d was right on the pulse and conveys a real enthusiasm toward all his guests. If you are skiing in this area please book and I doubt you will be disappointed. Some argue that the salad Bel Air is the best in the region.

Heaven is Le Bel Air in the sunshine.

The food is great (although my pals thought the menu limited)

The service is superb with staff efficient and friendly.

The clincher is the view that is to die for.

I believe the Daily Telegraph has already written up about the best lunch venue in the Alps.

Easily one of my top 5 restaurants

When staying in Les Menuires each year, we have to visit this terrace at least once. It is a great journey to get here and as a reward to enjoy the view, sun and good food on their terrace.

We have been eating here for the last 8 years and always go at least 2-3 times during our week skiing because it is always so good. You need to book because quite rightly they get so busy. Christophe the owner always welcomes us in with open arms, there is not a bad table in the house, and the prices are so reasonable but above all else the food is always great and plenty of it. Dont tell everyone about it though, they will all want to go there!
