My parents visited Club Med CHamonix few years ago and loved it - so I might had exaggerated expectations but:
1. Hotel cleanliness - was not good. Our room was not clean ( dirty carpet with stains and dust bath room that was not vacuumed properly).
at the first day we mentioned to the receptionist that our room was not cleaned well enough - they had promised us to take care of it the next day - but they have not.
3. Although we are a couple - we had a 2 beds put together - which moved apart with no effort.
4. SPA - was very nice. Good souna I didn't try the Hamma and the swimming pool. the open swimming pool was to cold for me. but the facility is nice
5. SKI room - great. you have your oun locker for the ski equipment.
6. Food - was ok - I mostly ate cheez - other things vere not that good. However - my husband did find the other dishes nice - so it was ok.
7. Open bar - very good. No limitation and big variety of all sort of drinks.
8. Location - was good. it was close to the town centre( few min walking) and it is very close to one of the lifts that takes you to a near by ski resort. In addition - club med provided a special bas only for the guest of the hotel - which took us to another resort
9. SKi lessons were very good - our instructor was very patient and Professional

I stayed at the Club Med Chamonix at the end of Feb. 2012. While there was plenty of snow, the conditions were spring like, hard in the morning and slushy in the afternoon. I was in a ski school class for 4 out of the 5 days during the week and while the lessons were adequate, there was little individual instruction. The biggest disappointment besides the snow conditions was the food. The Club Med did nothing to enhance the reputation of French cuisine. Not to say that the food was bad, but that for the most part it was just so so. At every meal there was at least one item which would qualify as excellent, but you had to look for it. The red wine selection for the week was excellent but the coffee came from instant coffee machines!

The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. The ski rental shop was quite stressed on the Sunday that I arrive and I would suggest you get there early before the rush. The selection of skis to pick from was adequate for on piste skiing, but if there is plenty of powder, then you might want to go into the village for some wider skis.

The views of Mt. Blanc and the alps were magnificent!! If you get a chance I suggest that you join a group and ski the Valle Blanche, it is worth the effort. A word of caution, it can be very icy at the top of the tram, so if you have some traction aids for your boots, such as yaktracks, bring them along. Also if you have a back pack designed for carrying skis, bring it along. There is a 30 minute trek down from the top to where you put your skis on and another 30 minute trek out of the Valle Blanche.

From arrival to departure we felt this club did their most to allow us to fully enjoy our stay.

I have read criticism of manager. I disagree. Hè is very pleasant, inobtrusive yet attentive. Plus, hè has à great voice. I enjoyed his singing.

As à family we had 2 interconnecting rooms. Loads of space. Well cleaned every day.

Location superb. Skiing from the hotel. Very short walk into town centre.

Maybe à very slight downside was the food - lot of repitition, but nothing to be upset about.

Thank you to Eric and his team for à great stay.

Malcolm

Room Tip: Valley view rooms worth the extra cost.

The club is closely located to the shops, restaurants and other attractions of Chamonix. Moreover, there is a ski lift right in front of it. Sauna and swimming pool are relatively small, but new and pleasant. The food is fantastic, and the bar was full of life, with live music every night. We had a good stay there, but the rooms and common areas need refurbishment, so I would not recommend this hotel for long stays.
