“Ok apartments.”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

We have just got back from a weeks stay. I thought the apartments were adequate but small. We had a 4-6 person apartment for 4 of us. The beds were all a bit short, but we did have 2 bathrooms. For the price we paid there should of been a proper oven. The microwave/oven was impossible to use and to small.

My main problem was location. The apartment was great if you wanted to go to town as it's just a few minutes walk (fantastic shops), but to take the children to ski school on the Savoy we had to walk as they said the bus drops you off along way from the slop. It was exhausting to carry all the children's skis and boots (as they couldnt walk the distance in them) up the hill to the slop. This was the main factor for us, as a result I didn't get to ski that much, just a couple of hours a day. If we come back we would stay in the Savoy or Club Med (hate the sound of that) but they are right on the slop.

The other thing that wasn't great was the ski lockers. We could only just get 3 lots of skis and a snowboard in them, anymore people and they wouldn't fit. Also, nowadays most place have ski boot dryers. These lockers are very basic.

The pool is set at 27 degrees, which when you first get in is a bit cold, but if you keep moving its fine. I loved the steam rooms. We were lucky that we had the pool all to ourselves.

Overall a good holiday apart from carrying all the skis for a km and a half one way each day. If they had lockers at the Savoy slop this would not have been a problem.

I was so worried about staying here as I read all the reviews before we left, but it was ok.

Hope this review helps?

Pool great, wifi intermittent. Location perfect, scenery not so hot. Service was pretty good, navigation through the buildings was super confusing, often ended up in wrong spot! ski lockers were very roomy too.

Good location just next to the train and bus station, close to the city centre and the bus service systems. Equipped with the basic items. Small apt for sleeping 4-6 ppl. The pool was a major disappointment, no jaccuzi and temperature of 27 degrees only. Perhaps better for kids.

Room Tip: Apartment sleeping 4-6 people is convenient for 3-4 people, or 5-6 people if you are fine with livin...

The service was the worst I have ever experienced they asked us for 9euros per towel like they expected us to spend one week with one towel each, and when we asked for the room to be cleaned they charged us 60 euros. The furniture must have been from the 1950's, TV literally had no channels you could watch I probably wouldn't charge more than 30 euros per night for a room like this

We have stayed in this property for one week with 20 people .
We are visiting many places in France for ski and staying in pierre vacances ski apartments. This year we decided to stay in La Ginebelle. We want to upgrade our stay as this property is a premium one. We opted for two bedroom and 6 person choices. We looked all the photos including rooms and reception. When we arrived the conditions of the rooms disappointed us because rooms are more smaller than the photos. Room sizes are different although I have paid the same money some of my friends have a more spacious rooms. Twin beds are short people our son with a height of 1.80 have a little difficulty in lying at his bed. We are having a little difficulty in staying this room so I think property is little exaggerating when advertising this room for room 6 people. When I asked for change for the room although the manager tried to help me the property was full and the other day they asked for 75 euros for the cleaning and told me to call before coming to have a better room. The dishasher washine broke and we called for two days to fix it and they returned after 4 visits and two calls at the reception.
Reception is very nice with nice sofas and fireplace (There was fire alşmost every night) with a nice children corner.
The pool is ok and clean , the beds are nice and clean . Free wifi is also nice although for wide bandwidth you have more.
Location is also nice being almost at the center and near to the ski bus stops.

They asked us to clean the kitchen and throw all the material at the end of our stay otherwise they will charge 50 euros .
I think information on internet must be more detailed about room sizes and do not expect the quality near to professional photos taken 5 years ago

Room Tip: call the place before coming and avoid the rooms near to street ask for corner rooms

Just back from chamonix had a great stay , good beds clean and well maintained. Staff very helpful and friendly with a good knowledge of English . We did use all facilities again well organised and maintained. We were a group of girls skiing so all were very happy to return. We did however have to share double beds due our party size. Not sure a group of boys would be as comfortable !!!

La Ginabelle is well located. A good bakery is just in the corner. The 3 room apartment has a lot of space with a fantastic view. The hotel is quite clean and cozy. The pool and wellness area is good. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
