“Spoilt for choice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

La Moraine is quite a big restaurant on a busy corner in town and yet it somehow didn't give the impression of being big as we were sat on a semi enclosed patio that only had five or six tables all of which were occupied at some stage of the evening. Our waitress was attentive without being 'in your face'. I had a tomato and herb tart starter and a main course of lamb chops (3) with veg and boiled potatoes. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented as was my friends chicken liver terrine with chutney and a main of calf's kidneys (I suppose it could be said that he had had an 'offal' night). With a litre of house red coming in at around 17 euro prices were certainly in the bargain bracket. All the while i was secretly spying on a nearby table where two diners were having a Savoyard fondue and I was thinking "that looks very good". Maybe next time.

“Lovely”

Had two fab meals here. So friendly with great service. The veggie options are great. So much better than the over priced restaurants on the main drag.

“Best in Chamonix”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013 via mobile

Cheaper than others tried in Chamonix and way better food. Lovely atmosphere and decor - quite smart but not formal. Efficient friendly service. I had menu of day which was salad mixte, pork chop with apple and delicious cherry tart. Nice to have veg for a change! Others at table had a v flavoursome chicken satay and superb tagletelle bolognese. Varied menu with lots of choice. All in all a lovely evening.

“Quiet pleasant meal out of season”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

A nice quiet meal with only a couple of other tables occupied but in June well out of the busy season. The chicken liver terrine had a lot of pork in it as is often the case unfortunately but after that disappointment the rest of the meal was excellent. The waiter was there and helpful when required but didn't disturb us unnecessarily.
