On a girls' weekend in Chamonix with my friend, and the local builder told us this restaurant had new owners and he really liked it. So we decided to try it on our last night, after sitting over 10 minutes in another restaurant waiting to order, and finally walking out.
The restaurant is on a corner and we sat out in the little courtyard, surrounded by vivid Alpine flowers in window boxes, and lit with soft lighting. It felt much nicer than some of the crowded places we had looked at.
As someone mentioned before, the menu isn't huge, but it is more varied than a lot of the other restaurants we looked at. The owner was very pleasant and helpful: I asked if he could do a vegetarian "plat du jour" and he went to ask the chef, who said he could do me a vegi ravioli. This was absolutely gorgeous: more like a lasagne than a ravioli to me, but very tasty and filling and a generous portion for the "plat" price of 9.50 Euros. My friend had steak and chips, at 19.50 Euros,
which were a little bit well done but very tasty none the less. We also had a litre carafe of house Rose wine which was delicious and amazing value at 15 Euros.
Dessert was mousse au chocolat to die for! Half milk and half white chocolate, a generous portion which melted in the mouth. We loved it! And at 6 Euros each it was pretty reasonably priced as well.
This was a lovely end to our holiday and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
