“Faucigny is the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

though the hotel was nice, it was the helpfulness, local knowledge, and genuine friendliness of the staff at Faucigny that made it stand above the other hotel we stayed at in Chamonix.
the quality of the breakfast and afternoon tea/coffee were appreciated also.
nothing left to do except smile, smile, smile.

Room Tip: excellent service

I had an amazing stay at the Faucigny last month! Everything was perfect: the atmosphere, the service, the comfortable and cosy room, the copious breakfast, the afternoon tea, the relaxing spa and much more... The staff was extremely helpful, giving us great advice on places to eat, the best ski spots, etc... The hotel also has special facilities and services for skiers, as well as being ideally situated close to skilifts. All in all, an ideal hotel for a getaway in the Alps! Great also for a romantic stay in Chamonix, which is a charming town surrounded by mountains.

Le Faucigny is truly a wonderful little hotel in the heart of Chamonix Mont Blanc. I truly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a homely feel. The staff were VERY friendly and accommodating. They recommended restaurants and ski slopes and really went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. I was very impressed!! The place is small but the location and staff make up for the size. They have a spa, sauna, ski room and facilities to dry your wet boots after a long day on the slopes. They even serve tea and cake for the guests which one can enjoy in a lovely cozy lounge area. Le Faucigny truly made our first ski trip a magnificent one. We will definitely be back!!!!!!

We stayed for a week and loved every moment. The hotel is in a great location for a couple as so much on its doorstep.
On arriving at the hotel we received such a warm and friendly welcome and this continued for the whole duration of our stay. Our room was lovely but like other reviewers stated it is very small but that really didn't matter to us as all the other facilities made up for it. The downstairs relaxing area and breakfast room is such a gorgeous space and we enjoyed chilling out there most evenings especially when the complimentary afternoon tea was served.
To top off our trip we actually got engaged in chamonix and the hotel gave us a bottle of champers when they heard which was such a lovely gesture. We can not wait to return to this great hotel!!

This hotel is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures and is in a fantastic location just around the corner from the main road in Chamonix. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and the only downside was that we were in a room near the stairs which as it was an older building could be a little creaky (and some people were up very early for a day of skiing). This can be expected in an old building though and was worth it just for the amazing view we woke up to every morning. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on my next trip to Chamonix.

We stayed for 2 nights, 2 adults and 2 kids (aged 13 and 10) in a family room on the top floor of the hotel.

Firstly, the many positives. We got a great deal on the room, with breakfast included, and champagne and macaroons on arrival. Breakfasts were fantastic. Staff, especially Maria, were super friendly and helpful. There are computers with free internet access in the shared lounge area for guest use. Parking was easy, right in front of the hotel and hotel location is super. The overall ambience of the hotel is welcoming.

On the downside, we found our room to be tiny and quite claustrophobic. We expected small rooms during our European travels, but this was easily the smallest we'd encountered. The room was configured with a queen bed in the main room, and 2 singles in a loft area above the room. The only windows were openable skylights, in both the main bedroom and the kid's loft area. In addition, as the main room was built into an attic, there were sloped walls and beams that we kept bumping into. To walk around the main bedroom, we had to ask the kids to sit on the bed as there was not enough room. The kids thought the loft area was great, but adults need to crouch and duck to get around up there. As we, like most travellers, are out and about most of the day, room size is not usually an issue; just think it was made worse by the lack of windows and therefore ventilation.

From reading others reviews, it appears room sizes do vary. We would stay at this hotel again, but only if a non attic family room was available. Perhaps the rooms on the lower levels are larger, not sure.
