A short skiing trip with friends required a certain type of accommodation. Key was proximity to the apres ski (big tick - it is right underneath you) and a quiet night's sleep (rather surprisingly, also tick) and ease of access to the slopes (well, it is Chamonix so nothing can deliver that one!)

The staff were exceptionally helpful - even managed to put in an extra bed in our room the day before to accommodate an extra friend) - and the beds were comfortable. Room was fairly small, even without the extra bed, but the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was extra, but a decent and varied buffet.

The reception looks good and modern, upstairs is fairly faded, but it is clean and friendly so I would happily stay here again. I've stayed in better, sure, but boy I've stayed in worse!

The Hotel was dirty and had a smell about it in the reception area, I was on the 4th floor and assumed that the smell would not be in the room. I was very wrong. The smell was throughout the hotel. I had room 411 on the fourth floor. It was very cramped, had dirty walls, a velux window in the ceiling that had leaked and had been patched up to make a repair and it was a very shabby job. In the morning when I woke up, the velux window was dripping onto my bed.
There is a bar downstairs that encourages under age drinking. There were young people drinking beer out of jugs in the reception area. Shouting of bad language and music that was banging a beat until 1.00 am every morning. On the 4th floor it was making the door vibrate it was so loud.
My recommendation is....DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.
I spoke to the young lady on reception, and all she said was sorry. Nothing else. She did not care. The hotel is run by inexperienced kids with no understanding of the running of a hotel.

My review is zero out of ten.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this pleasent and friendly hotel , there was a variety of foods at breakfast which were very nice . the seated area out side the hotel was situated so you could enjoy a cold beer and take in culture, with pubs around you which had live entertainment and cheap beer we would recomend this hotel to all tourers .

The staff were very nice, and the bed super comfortable after a 2 day ski. It is an older building but captures the charm a bit of the place. It is centrally located in easy walking distance of everything. If you like a lively bar, this is the place.

friendly staff, fast check in, great location (opposite to the train station), private parking. overall the place felt more like a hostel and our room nr.411 turned out to be a disaster. we booked "last moment" 5 hours prior to our arrival, so could not be bothered to complain as we were to stay 1 night only. no closet or any kind of storage space in this room. fixing the ceiling window and repainting the walls would be very essential (see enclosed pictures). VERY noisy bar, with great atmosphere (for teenagers and twenty something), but guest at the 2nd and 3rd floor must wear earplugs @ night. this is not a hotel for families with small children. breakfast for 10 Euros pp. next time I would choose a different location or ask for a different room at least.

Room Tip: room nr. 411 is a NO

Travelled to the Gustavia on 24th Jan for 4 nights. Booked through Ski Weekends who we can't fault at all! Hotel reception staff were very friendly, efficient check in and quick look round showed a lounge, bar and dinning room.

We were in room 305 - lovely balcony and stunning view of the mountains. The room was clean and larger than some that I've stayed in at different ski resorts. The beds are small singles as standard in most European ski resorts. Hot water was constant. Room was so we turned the radiator down and the problem was solved.

There is a very busy, popular bar at the bottom of the hotel, if you're a light sleeper, or don't want to join the party, then ask for a higher floor. The bar goes quieter after 11 as the seasonnaires and most of the party moves on. Police do the circuit often around Chamonix, so do address issues as they arise.

Breakfast was great. It's billed as continental, but you get more. Bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs. Cold meats and cheeses, baguette, pastries. Yogurt with fruits and nuts. Porridge to keep you going. The coffee was very hot, and fresh and you got a mug, rather than dinky cups that you have to refill often.

Staff were always on hand and very helpful, they don't offer the "American" customer service, which to me was refreshing. In short, you asked and you got what you wanted! They kept cool even though we saw them getting some short shrift from some!

I'd happily recommend this hotel to friends and family and think its good value for money, and we are looking forward to our next visit!

3 night ski break with husband. Hotel looks like it has "been grand" but in honesty is a bit shabby in places. Staff were fine, but we had no problems to deal with. Room was so hot. Can't kelp windows open due to noise from the bar. So take earplugs. Breakfast adequate, but ten euro pp so eat plenty! Theres ski storage. The plus side ( depends how you look at it) is it houses chamber nuef, the wildest apres ski bar in town. Bonkers. But great. So book a room on 3rd or 4th floor....
