“Loved this hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2011

Owners were very friendly. The rooms were excellent, clean and comfortable with the feel of staying in a luxury cabin in the mountains. Nice views of the mountains from the balcony. Located near to the pedestrian district of Chamonix, it was convenient for restaurants etc, and also a 5 minute walk from the Montenvers railway to the Mer de Glace. Excellent breakfast of cheese, meats, breads, egss, cereals, etc. Our only regret was that we were only stying for one night, we loved it!

This is a very nice hotel as most of the reviews state.

BUT

We stayed here for 3 nights after completing the Tour of Mont Blanc.

Before completing our walk we visited the hotel and asked to leave a bag that we could collect at the end of our trip and at the beginning of our 3 night stay.
We were told it would cost 10euro's a night storage charge (for 9 nights!) because they were short of space (despite the fact they had a large empty ski room).
I left our bag at our first nights accommodation above Les Houches (for free).

So if you stay here keep your money in your pockets as it appears the owners will try to rob you any chance they get.

We've stayed there for 2 nights in May and we've loved it! The hotel is very nice, very clean and we had a room with view on the Mont Blanc. The room was comfortable and clean and smelt nice! It is situated 5 minutes from the centre of the town and have parking facilities. The owners are very friendly and very helpful. We'll definitively recommend this hotel.

Breakfast very good. Close to ski bus stop and train station. Free Bus tickets provided.
Free WIFI, Pool Table, Cupboard with lots of games for the kids, roaring fire with cozy bar. Good showers. Very Clean & Tidy. Owners very friendly and always available.
Good photos on their website - http://www.absolument-montblanc.com (click on Enter-UK). South facing terrace, perfect to enjoy a beer (or two) after a good days skiing

The hotel is run by a husband and wife couple. Both are wonderfully caring, personable and attentive. They always sought to be helpful and regularly went the extra mile.

The breakfast is absolutely superb and well worth getting up in the morning for. Fresh food with a healthy variety.

Location is great, on the edge of the village, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to all the amenities you might need.

Wifi is available and was provided for free by the hotel.

The hotel also has a "skis and boots room" that has heated railings that dry your boots for you nicely for the next day!

Great hotel. We would go back without hesitation, and we are not that easy to please. Beautifully renovated hotel, lovely bedrooms and spotlessly clean. Lovely, helpful, friendly owners. Good location, 2 min walk and you are in the main area with shops and lots of cafes and restaurants. Ski hire option 20m from hotel. Bus passes by hotel and does a loop round Chamonix - the hotel is first and last in the loop. We found it better to get on at the stop directly across from the hotel at the start of the loop to get a seat. Good option available if you have children - well set out adjoining rooms behind an outer door, to create a little self contained apartment. Expect it to be quiet in the evening. Nicest ski hotel we have stayed in, and Chamonix is lovely. Really good Italian called Neapolis a couple of mins from hotel - pizza is great and inexpensive.

Have just returned from a weeks skiing, staying at this lovely hotel. Not only are the owners friendly and extremely helpful but they have thought of every detail and made their hotel cosy and inviting. It is stylishly decorated and the breakfast is outstanding. The location is great for getting into town but not too close to be noisy. We agreed that this was the best hotel for skiing that we have stayed in and would definitely go back. We drove to Chamonix and were able to park our car here too which was great. An all round big thumbs up from us!
