Our first trip to Chamonix was a fantastic experience and made for a lovely Christmas thanks to the Drop In Chalets team. From the minute we booked, Chris, one of the owners of Drop in Chalets, was brilliant in helping us organise ski school, transfers, ski hire and childcare, which all worked perfectly. Throughout our stay, Chris would pop in and check everything was ok, which was a nice touch.

The chalet itself is a charming traditional stone Savoyard building with a cosy wooden interior located on a bus route to along the valley and 100m from the centre of town, so perfect for getting to the lifts (especially Brevent) or doing a spot of shopping. The hot tub on the front terrace was a real treat, a perfect place for sipping champagne or soothing the muscles. The rooms all had en-suite bathrooms and were cosy with comfortable beds. The TV room with a PS3 was very handy for early waking children's DVDs and the odd game for the dads!

The chalet team, Ellen and James, were absolutely charming and made our holiday amazing. Ellen's cooking was great, turning out beautifully presented course after course and James was a very patient host, driving us all over the place and event kept the kids amused by making brownies with them one day!

All in all, I would thoroughly recommend Chalet Cachat at the team at Drop In Chalets. if you go to Chamonix and are a group of 10-12, it's a winner.

Great place to stay. Easy access to the lifts and great hosts. Our party had lots of food requests that were driven by allergies and the chalet hosts copped brilliantly. Only thing they could improve on was the open fire. A wood burner would have been better as the fire struggled to stay lit. This really is a minor concern though.

Earlier this year I booked with Drop in Chalets and stayed at Chalet Cachat, I have to say it was even better than expected. The house is a lovely old worldy house with oodles of charm & character, it's also within walking distance of the town centre. Chris and Karl were the perfect hosts nothing was too much bother. They have great local knowledge and pointed me in the right direction to wonderful restaurants and things to do and see. The hot tub was a lovely surprise and there was nothing nicer than sitting there in the evening stargazing. All in all they made my trip fantastic, would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. I am planning on returning again this winter.

I stayed at Chalet Cachat last February with a large group of friends. It was wonderful-a great location with a staff that met our every request. We had a lovely trip. I would highly recommend this lodging in Chamonix!

It's so difficult to know where to go with so many options out there and everyone claiming to have the ideal chalet.

I can't recommend this chalet enough not only for the location and facilities but for how much we were looked after by Big Hill adventures.

Absolutely great bunch with loads of local knowledge from best ski areas to fantastic restaurants that would thoroughly look after us.

I rarely write recommendations as I think one mans trash can be another mans treasure but I can't see anyone not thoroughly enjoying the stay with Big Hill.

Thansk again

We were 3 couples with 4 small children between us, and Chalet Cachat was perfect for us.
There was enough room for the 3 families to have their own space and the communal areas was perfect for when we all wanted to spend time together.
Chris and Karl were the perfect hosts - Friendly and full of local information. Great home cooked hearty breakfasts, 3 course dinners and always a lovely afternoon tea ready and waiting after a day of skiing.
The chalets location was ideal - we could walk the children to the lessons, and then either head straight up the mountain or Karl was happy to drop us at other lifts. And a 5 minute walk to the town centre.
Chris organised a masseuse to come to the house a couple of nights which was great and she also help us organise a baby sitter so the adults could have a night out.
The chalet is set over 3 levels giving plenty of room.
The hot tub is an added bonus for the ski legs.
We will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to all.
Thanks Chris and Karl.
