We've chosen La Brise to spend our Christmas-holiday because we were with three families, and in La Brise we could stay all together. In your own apartment where you have your privacy, but with your friends/families close by , great for the kids to play games together in the evening or have a few drinks with your friends after skiing.
I don't ski but the families we were with are very fanatic, and our children love it too. For me, Chamonix was a very nice place to wander around and to shop a little. It has quite a few nice little restaurants. It also was very easy for me to take the ski-lift to go up the mountain to sit there in the sun and relax with a book while the whole group was skiing there and everyone came there to lunch so it was fun to gather together.
Parking at La Brise is a bit of a problem. To unload your car you'll have to park the car almost in the middle of the road, especially at busy daytime we found that a bit tricky. For the rest of the week we parked the car in a carpark nearby and that was fine.
The apartments are rather simple, not luxurious, but okay. We stayed in the apartment that is on the first floor. The one of the top floor where our friends stayed, has a really nice and big living-room, where we easily could gather together in the evening. Our living-room, and the one on the ground floor, was a bit small. We had a balcony, but there wasn't any sun that reached there in this time of the year.
The bathrooms were okay, the towels were small but fine. I asked the manager to change extra towels during the week which was good. The kitchen wasn't really well-equiped. One of the apartments didn't have a toaster so we had to share it, the frying pan was at the end of its days but we didn't really care because we only once baked some eggs in the morning and we went out for dinner and lunch. The choice of glasses (tableware) was a bit funny, in our apartment there were only really huge glasses to drink out, so we bought some wineglasses in a supermarket. So that problem was easily solved. The supermarket is around the corner, and so is the shop to rent the ski-gear.
We had a really nice time at La Brise, if you are looking for a place to spend some time together with a big group of friends/family La Brise is a good place to stay because you can rent the whole property for that use.
