Biggest complaint is the Internet. I stayed at the hotel for a long time - 3 weeks bc I was studying french. I had previously been in Senegal where I had near perfect internet, then to arrive in France - the most visited country in the world (literally, I looked it up) - and chamonix doesn't have Internet? What's wrong with this picture? So take that into account if internet connection is important for you. Also, the cleaning of the rooms was so so and overall quality was 'eh.

The good things (many more than the bad). Price is very good, location is fantastic (maybe the best in Chamonix), breakfast isn't too bad, staff very nice and multi-lingual. I witnessed many folks come in and not even attempt to say hi or thank you in french, even acting annoyed when the staff didn't fully understand them IN ENGLISH , but they maintained a smile and provided solid customer service. Lobby is quaint, rustic and provides a warm ski lodge vibe.

Would recommend if internet is not important.

Nice rooms, great location, good breakfast and a very nice staff. Also ample parking if you have a car. We had a nice room with a deck overlooking the river. My only complaint was that the internet was a bit unreliable. The hotel also has a fitness center and sauna, which we didn't use as were exhausted from hiking but enjoyed our deck.

Although we had a room at the back of the hotel, it was spacious and quiet, with no noise from the nearby building works.Helpful staff and pleasant seating areas inside and out.The ski-room was ideal to leave my bike in, and for drying some wet clothes.
We did not pay the extra 11 euros for breakfast, but enjoyed trying the many fine places in Chamonix which is such a great town.

stayed in Chamonix for four nights.we could walk to everything from this hotel.good size room and bathroom and a fantastic view.each night we sat on our balcony with a glass of good french wine and a straight on view of magnificent Mont Blanc.Good food and a friendly staff make it all the more worthwhile.

Room Tip: pay a little extra for the room facing the mountain. It's worth it!

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Rick Steves tour group. It was one of our better hotels along the way. Our room faced the front parking lot which has been taken over by new building construction. Unfortunately our timing left us with a view of (and noise from) construction. Others in our group mentioned having balconies with mountain views so some rooms must be particularly nice. Ours was very comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly for the most part. They jealously guarded the tables in the breakfast area insisting that our group all sit together to the point of asking us to move if we strayed. There were plenty of tables for everyone. All in all a good stay.

We have just come back from a wonderful stay made all the better by the friendly staff at this hotel. Finding accomodation in Chamonix is expensive and this proved to be a great option, and was relatively cheap to boot. We were a group of eight hillwalkers and were treated very well here by the receptionists, the woman in charge of the breakfast and even by the security staff whom we shared a drink with late at night. Breakfast worth choosing and the Wifi is free and very clear. This hotel is great value.

Room Tip: Worth getting a room with Mont Blanc view

It is only a 2 star hotel but the most important things are there; cleanliness, warm and welcoming.
The downstairs area is a really nice area. There is a: reception, bar, lounge and pool room. Some of the furniture looks about 20 years old but they have tried to update it by adding new upholstery.
Bedroom was nice enough. We had a window looking over the car park (there was a building site but luckily they didn't start work until 9ish) and another window looking towards Mont Blanc. There was a small TV that had CNN and a separate toilet and bathroom.
The "Espace Forme" was a pleasant surprise. A cross-trainer, stepper, climbing wall and a sauna.
Breakfast was quickly topped up when things ran out. But considering this is an activity resort, I would have expected lots more hot food options. The only hot food option was scrambled egg.
The staff were always friendly and helpful - and patient with my attempts at French. They also have a large, spacious car park for guests - quite unusual in Chamonix.
So in summary a little basic in parts but deserves at least a 3 star score.

Room Tip: There is building work on the car park side (North side???) at the moment so rooms facing Mont Blanc...
