“Mon Dieu!!”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

I recently travelled to Italy from France via the Mont Blanc tunnel. The scenery was amazing and I would very much like to spend more time exploring this region one day. However, it was the cost of the use of the tunnel that was truly amazing!! Nothing was indicated on the road leading to the tunnel entrance. Upon arriving at the peage at the mouth of the tunnel I was asked for the sum of 40.80 EUROS. Naturally I had to pay as I was somewhat committed by that point.......I did wonder just how many times a day the cashier was met with "HOW MUCH!!!" There was a convoy of 3 British cars towing caravans in front of me and I dread to think how much they had to pay. Oh, the 40.80 euros was for one way only!!!

I returned via the San Gotthard Tunnel on my return trip which is FREE

It is quite an expense travelling through this part of the country with the many tolls, but still the cost of the Mont Blanc Tunnel seemed an expense too far. My advise, use the San Gotthard route.

“Seen from the top of the Aiguille de Midi cable car”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

fantastic views of Mont Blanc from the top of the Aiguille De Midi cable car. Really amazing. Great to go up after a good day's skiing. Lift closes at 4:30pm so you have to get up before in order to have a short walk about and catch the views. We didn't stay too long but there is a cafe if you want to have a drink..... Easy to get to in central Chamonix and free on the unlimited chamonix lift pass.

“Breathtaking views and charming village”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Spent a day in Chamonix and Mont Blanc. Charming village with canals and views of the mountains all around. Took the cable car up Mont Blanc which was a great experience. So refreshing to be up so high and look out. Very cold up there, obviously, but there is a cafeteria to warm up in.

“What a charming place!”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

Located at the base of a number of differing ski slopes this town provided the most wonderful of settings. We were in a large group of 10 and the choice of restaurants, bars and shops were very diverse and the town had a real buzz to it. It had a real up-market feel to it but the bars and clubs were as lively as you might expect with any ski resport as far as the apres ski is concerned. First time here but will definitley go back.
