“Terrible food but no choice!!”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

We had booked a tour from Geneva for Chamonix and Mont. Blanc which included lunch at this place. The lunch was a 3 course meal and believe me none of the courses were of any standard. The starter was a mix of some veggies greasy enough to make you feel greasy yourself, the mains included a pasta which was Bland as far as it could go and then the dessert which was supposed to be custard cream and the cream smelled like very old yogurt. All in all waste of money and time but then we had no choice as we had already paid to eat here. There are lot of small places here to eat with good options.

“Do not go!”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

The food was horrible, the fondue was chewing gum. The waiters were rude and insulting. Other plates came straight out the microwave. I strongly suggest that you do not go here. A restaurant the fully deserves 0 stars and new management.

“Avoid this restaurant! Terrible food, bad service, rude management.”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

Regulars in Chamonix, we went to the Brasserie de L'M with a group of 8 under the recommendation of a friend who is a regular in the valley. To cut it short, the food was awful: the fondue tasted of rubber, the pheasant was under cooked in the microwave and indelible and the Mont d'Or was powdery, liquidy, probably watered down with no real taste. The service was of the same dismal standard: the waiter handed us burning plates with no warning, burned a person with the spark of a match and did not have the attitude one would expect of such a restaurant. To top it all when we asked for the manager to complain he was downright rude, did not take any of our complaints into consideration, and insulted us as we left. I would not recommend this place to anyone, though the decor is attractive, what you pay is not worth what you get in return. Restrain yourself to the hot wine outside!

“Really good French food”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

The food here is really good. I went with a group of 5 other people. Half of us had the raclette and the other half had the beef (cook yourself) - both were absolutely delicious, the food was plentiful and the wine delicious! On a ski holiday, you can't ask for more.

“Rude”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

Been going to Chamonix for a number of years and usually every year go to L'm which to be honest has never been that great! This year they have excelled themselves which has made me write a review!! We went in and were asked that unless we had made a reservation "no can do" So we started to leave, they quickly said that if we wait in the bar they would have a table ready. We went to the bar and was met by a thoroughly RUDE waitress who not only was verbally rude but screwed her face up when we asked for a run and diet coke!!! Why? I have no idea..... she also had a cough which she had no problem with an coughed without covering her mouth, coughed all over serving drinks, snacks. Yuck, no wonder I came home with one myself. We were ready to leave as we had not yet been faced with a friendly smile!!!! However a miserable chap said a table was ready. Off we went to the restaurant We were greeted again with a grumpy waiter. Took our order and rushed off. Starters were actually lovely, Cauliflower soup was delicious and Onion soup lovely. My cousin ordered a steak which was expensive, but thought we would teat ourself. When it arrived it was the fattiest grizzlies stake you could imagine. Very disappointing, especially at the most expensive price. After 9 years of going to Chamonix we will defo NOT be going back to L'M We have given it a chance too many times.
