“What an experience to eat here - dont miss it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

Le Monchu is right in the town centre just over the river. They specialise in typical French cuisine for cold climates. We had steak to barbeque on our table together with melted cheese, with potato and salad. We managed a dessert but that filled us. Together with wine and beer the cost for three of us came to 110 euros, and well worth every cent.

“Great experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013

We chose this restaurant based on the menu. We had the 3 meats which we cooked on a hot stone at our table. Included some veggies and a baked potato. They also brought water and bread. We has wine and dessert and total bill was 73E. Service was very good and they went out of their way to make sure we could communicate with our limited French. The restaurant was half full when we arrived however all tables were full within 30 minutes. Overall a great experience and would recommend.

“Good food and service, high prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

Service was prompt and friendly. Place is quite huge. Had the reblochanade, ingredients were all of high quality. Price is certainly in the high end for Chamonix, not convinced that it offers better value than its competitors.

“Good Savoyard kitchen, decent prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

Just a a few steps away from all the other restaurants, the Monchu offers good regional food like Savoyard fondue, (Swiss) raclette, saucissons... Service is quick and friendly. Good place to try various local food.
