“One of our favourite places in France”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2009

We arrived in beautiful Chamonix and had no trouble finding Vert et Blanc. Jackie greeted us immediately and arranged some lovely fresh coffee while we admired the view. The room was lovely with views right over the mountains including Mont Blanc. It was truly magnificent. The bed was comfy and warm and bathroom modern and a great size. And parking wasn't a problem either.

The location was fabulous, just a short and romantic walk along the river into Chamonix. And what a town! So much character, choices of restaurants, things to see and do. We loved the place so much we got engaged overlooking Mont Blanc. It is certainly a place we will never forget. Breathtaking, and not too busy in June.

The breakfasts put on by Jackie were delicious, the honesty bar was a real treat and the overall hospitality was excellent. Maps and information were provided and little things that Jackie did for us and others staying were above and beyond most places.

We would definitely recommend Vert et Blanc to anyone looking for a great location, modern facilities, charm and character and among all, a welcoming host.

Welcomed by the offer of being collected from the station, followed by a great cup of tea (typical Brits!), us girls 'ooo'd' and 'aaah'd' over the stunning views of the Mont Blanc range from the loumge, bedrooms and garden! One of the most hospitable B&B's we stayed in, Vertetblanc was very clean, well appointed, good breakfasts, and relaxing - not forgetting the lovely hot-tub! Especially welcome was the freedom to make oursleves a drink.

A lovely riverside walk to Chamonix, about 10-15 mins, and less in the other direction for good evening meals at Les Praz.

After a week of hiking we stayed one night in vert et blanc. I had hoped for two but the chalet was fully booked for one of those nights, which was a shame because it is such a great place to stay. The views are fantastic, the location perfect and hospitality is second to none. The rooms are modern without sacrificing any of the the local charm. A perfect balance, methinks. Jackie was the perfect host filling us in on everything from the history of the town to best places to eat. Would definitely return.

We stayed at Vert et Blanc for one night. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owners, David and Jackie, and treated to coffee. Their sincere interest in our trip plans was refreshing. After David advised us about sightseeing opportunities, Jackie gave us a tour of the chalet and explained its amenties. Our room was very large, immaculate, and quiet. Internet is provided free of charge and the chalet is located within easy walking distance of Chamonix. Unfortunately, we had to leave in the wee hours of the morning to connect with our train in Paris so we didn't get as much time to stay in Chamonix as we would have liked. We hope to return to Vert et Blanc at a future date, and we would highly recommend the chalet for visitors to the area.

My wife took me to Vert et Blanc for my 40th Birthday and what a gift it was! Jackie and Dave, the hosts, ensured that our stay was sooooooo relaxing. We also got to mingle with the other guests who all seemed to be lapping up the great atmosphere and location.

Jackie and Dave took us to the lifts requested and bent over backwards to ensure we had all the gear we needed. Lots of snow on the ground even though it was April.

The food was amazing and I even got a monster Birthday cake!

Great distance for a perfect walk into town or to our chosen bar of the week, The Rhododendron. Great live band!

we shall return!
