“If you are in Haute-Savoye - don't miss”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2012

One of the most beautiful and relaxing places in Europe.
The view is wonderful - the lake surrouded by a huge park and the Alps mountain as backround.
Good place for relaxing or walking.
Many local people are visiting and enjoying the clean air, or the lake activities.
In the summertime there is a swiming location and in the park, from time to time some concerts.
Just accross the street, there are shops and a little mall.
Few meters away there is the old town with many narrow streets, many shops, cafes, restaurants and every thing you need visiting a town,
The old district is located "on the water" along a small river and canals. Many art and souvenir shops. In the main square you may find dance bands or music bands.
Parking is easy mainly in the underground parking lot in front of the city hall, just in front of the lake.

“Lake Annecy is beautiful and the castles along the way add a note of enchantment.”

We were enchanted by the entire visit - scenery was gorgeous and the old town with its medieval architecture was a real winner. A "must see" for us. It's about an hour south of Geneva, Switzerland by coach which leaves the Geneva train station (share a station).

Pristine waters, view of the mountain, water sports, nice walk paths and the city of Annecy is amazing. Do not miss the market in the morning

“Annecy, border of Lac Leman”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

We went to Annecy for the day from Lutry and Pully, in Switzerland, where we were staying with family. We drove all around the lake and up into the mountains surrounding the lake. We had lunch in a little cafe around the lake but we cannot remember the name. We sat outside with the lake just across the road. They were very hospitable. We went into the Old Town which was really interesting with lovely old buildings and lots of interesting shops. We had drinks in the square in the sunshine and pottered about. There were lots of places we could have visited and this is not very helpful, except to say it was a lovely place to visit but I do not manage walking in the hot sunshine. We would have liked to have visit the main part of the town too but it was far too hot. However, well worth a visit and it looked as if it was very interesting. A member of my family has moved over there, so hopefully will get to visit again soon. I think most people would enjoy visiting Annecy at any time of the year.

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

The lake is beautiful. Make sure you take a trip on one of the boats that leave regularly from the town. And if you have a car take a drive around the lake to discover some of the spectacular villages that lie on its banks
