“Excellent food, excellent service!”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

As we only live a few hundred yards away from this restaurant, we have been a couple of times, and in our opinion it is one of the better options in the old town area. We had a bavette aloyau (steak) which was divine, and part of a "menu du jour" for lunch which was really excellent value. Nice house wine too. Makes a pleasant change from many of the tourist traps in the area. Will definitely revisit!

“Hamburgers in France”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

So, we've been in France for over a month and getting a little tired of French food and saw this restaurant in Annecy that looked like a different taste. The hamburger offerings are interesting and the restaurant offers a list of suppliers and says their prodcuts are BIO and local. We like this approach to food and seek out these type of sources when cooking at home.
My first observation was that all the French customers were eating their hamburgers with a knife and fork instead of the American way of picking them up with your hands like a sandwich.
My husband asked for his burger well done but it came pink anyway (we know the French HATE to cook meat well done!!) The waiter said the normal cooking was "a point" which is medium rare and fine fo rme. My burger was cooked to that level but it wasn't really hot and the bun was almost like raw dough. I think it would be better if they toasted the buns a little.
The burgers came with Frites and cole slaw which were both very nicely done.
We had a carafe of wine which was good quality for the price and the service was pleasant enough with one waiter taking care of all 8 or 9 tables of customers.
The meal did give us a "different taste" and a chance to not eat a typical 3 course dinner.
Also, the quality of the products did seem quite fresh and good.
I am not giving a 5 point rating since they did not cook my husband's hamburger as requested and I thought the bread was undercooked at best.

“OK - good food, overpriced”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

Had lunch at Apres La Plage this week. Was our first visit. Had a three course menu with a glass of wine.

Pros:

- good quality food, well presented
- many of the dishes organic (bio in French)
- restaurant suppliers listed at front of menu (this is really appreciated)
- nice interior decoration

Cons:

- Too expensive (comment made by many reviewers in french) eg. small salad starter at EUR12
- Not the most friendly staff (not the worst in Annecy either)
- website still in construction nearly a year after opening

Would return, but probably just for a main course. Most of the other customers seemed to have similar views. I would have rated four stars if it had been better value.

“Delicious bio burgers! We'll be back!”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

Hasty decision to come to this restaurant, from the outside doesn't look that appealing as it's next to a kebab shop. Upon looking closer at the menu and realising it was a bio place, we decided to try it out. A party of 4 without a reservation, the waiter was able to find us a spot at 7pm on a Saturday night. There are not many tables, so I suggest booking in advance to not be disappointed. The amuse bouche consisted of olives and taboulet. Yum! We all decided to order the Bio Burger. Mmmmm, tasted so good and happy it was made from bio, local products. The burgers were about 19 euros each. Quite expensive, but very good. With two alcoholic drinks each, a burger each, and two cafes, the total bill came to 115 euros, just under 30 euros each. We would go back to this place again just for the burgers. The waiter was also very friendly and attentive. We didn't even need to ask for a carafe of water!

“Inventive bio food”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

Après la plage is a pretty restaurant in La vieille Ville in Annecy. The food was very good (try the gazpacho, it is divine),the presentation refined and according to the menu a lot of the produces used in the kitchen are bio. The place itself is very pretty: elegant, yet laid back with a small terrace at the entrance. The service was okay though the waiter seemed irritated by the very nature of his job. In other words, the service was correct but by no mean friendly. This is not a cheap restaurant: a lunch (entrée and main meal) with no wine and no dessert came up to 70 euros (at this price you can only hope that the food is really bio....)
