“Outstanding location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2012

We stayed here two nights and had a great time. We had a very nice room on the third floor and it had an outstanding view of the Lake Annecy. The service was very good and the people were very friendly. You do need a car to stay here. It is too far to walk and you do not want to miss Annecy. Would like to come back for another visit.

Hi stayed here with my wife (she was already here for 3 nights before me) for 2 nights. The rooms were quite small and I thought the bed was comfortable but my wife didn't think so.
The guestroom and bathroom are not that well laid out but this is a problem when old buildings have ensuite bathrooms put in them. Was surprised how quite it was considering the number of people arriving and leaving for functions at all hours.
Sure this is an older building but it could do with a bit of a makeover. It is a bit up the hill from the lake and a bit of a walk to the town (about 20 minutes walk). It does have bikes available and there is a good bike path around the lake. The only food I had here was breakfast one morning and there was quite a good selection but the service was a bit random. The place seems to be used for quite alot of functions, so not sure how important staying guests are to the place. No problem with speaking English and the place does have some charm about it and would be nice in the middle of summer with its swimming pool and relaxing area.
I would probably choose somewhere closer to the old town to stay next time, but as there was a film festival on and accomation was tight was this was an OK option.

Stayed here and would return again and again. Have read the other reviews and disagree with a lot of the negative stuff. The walk into town is not a nightmare however the hill is quite steep but manageable for anyone with a poor to normal level of fitness. Most staff spoke English well and were also happy to tolerate our rather ordinary French. Attitude of staff was excellent and they were extremely helpful. We had the 'degustation' menu in the restaurant and it was very good. Breakfast was also very good. Some prices are a bit on the high side for drinks etc but overall they are not excessive. Have bath only in rooms but handheld shower nozzle was fine after figuring it out. Amazing views across lake Annecy.

Magnificent view from balcony. Service was good. Short walk from town into Annecy. Receptionist spoke excellent English and was very helpfull in pointing us to the best icecream, chocolate and cheese shops.
Food in the hotel was very good, nicely presented and served. The chees was exceptional

Room Tip: Ask for balcony and view over lake

My father booked this hotel as a small break for the family for my 1 year olds birthday. On arrival, the hotel is beautiful, an art deco style which I love and the views are spectacular. My mother and father's room which was at the front of the hotel in an upgraded room was really lovely. Mine and my husband's room wasn't as nice with it being at the back of the hotel but still ok.

The 10/15 minute walk into Annecy was fine for us, we actually quite enjoyed it however it probably wouldn't be nice in the winter or at night.

We ate in the bistro the first two nights which was ok although the service was very slow and many of the other guests who came in later were waiting a very long time. The third night my father treated us to a meal in the restaurant which although was top notch food, unfortunately turned out to be a terrible terrible evening. As we had a 1 year old we booked as early as we could and were the first in the restaurant at 7.30pm. Basically we were still there at 10.30pm still only having had 2 courses from a 4 course set menu. The waiters although very professional were not apologetic at all and just said it was busy as there was a private dinner-party in. They made no effort to hurry anything along or comfort us and even seemed perplexed when we complained. Other guests were saying the same although some seemed to managed to come, eat and go before us. For the type of restaurant it was and for the very high prices I expect much much better service and for a set menu, quicker service.

Needless to say it ruined our evening and even put a dampener on the whole break, will not be going here again.

Room Tip: Only worth it if you get a room facing the lake. Upgraded rooms are much nicer than the basic ones

If you do not have a car do not stay. Australians staying on recommendation of our Travel Agent who will hear about it! Upfront explained we couldn't speak French and that we were from Australia. Curt is being nice to the Receptionist when we arrived on Sunday afternoon. Despite some basic English in the brochure of Practical Information when we attempted to order room service were told there was none. When we went to the bar come lounge we ordered coffee having first gone to Reception and formally requested how this could happen. A surly waiter was sent who knew everything about a long black coffee but after a long time chose to deliver short black. The room was very nice and large after Paris and Arles and the bathroom modern. The hand held shower was secured at knee height over the bath so hand held was quite the word. The view is Les Tremos saving grace. It is magnificent and we have a small balcony on which to enjoy. Would be nice to order a drink to sip while we enjoyed the view.
Little things like a key for a meagrely stocked mini bar. No face cloths for the bathroom. One bath towell short after making up room. Air conditioning which cannot be changed. Hot bath towel rail (useful for drying rinsed smalls) which only heats at night. No lunch or room service on Monday. This we could live with if there were Restaurants and Brasserie within walking distance. The continental breakfast was most adequate and enjoyed. The Italian Manager who had spent time in our home town of Adelaide was interested to meet us and when around made sure we were being taken care of deserves full marks. Other than the pleasant house maid in the corridor who greeted us the rest were indifferent. I describe their service as not pro-active and slow to be reactive even when the situation arises. With any type of service of refreshment being a €15 - €20 taxi fare each way it becomesan expensive outing. There are lots of good well priced eateries in the Old Town. Suggest you look for a Hotel nearby.

Booked this hotel as a stopover en-route to Chamonix as we had stayed here five years ago and enjoyed our visit to Les Tresoms.
The one member of staff at reception was unfriendly when we arrived and was trying to manage a number of other tasks which meant there was a long queue at reception for check-in
Unfortunately as we had not pre-booked we were unable to eat in the restaurant overlooking Lake Annecy but we were offered a table in the Brasserie.
When we arrived at the Brasserie (a timeslot had been booked) we were asked to go back to the bar to have a drink while our table was prepared. We returned to the bar but there were no bar staff - after waiting a few minutes we went to the reception but there were no staff to assist there either.
There was only one manager and one member so staff managing eight full tables at the Brasserie - this led to long wait times between courses and wine glasses not being refilled.
The Brasserie food was expensive and extremely sparse - 25 euros for a steak with a smudge of dressing but absolutely no option to order vegetables.
Our room was very disappointing - the bathroom door opened into the bedroom but the door could not be opened fully as it butted against the bed. The bath was a 'tub' and there was no bracket on the wall to attach the shower head so this had to be held while showering.
Such a shame as this hotel has a great location with lots of free parking - it just felt that this hotel needed proper management and some additional staff - a very different and unacceptable experience to our stay five years ago. We will not be returning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room where the bathroom door opens fully and the shower head does not need to be held whil...
