I visited this as part of a dual ticket with the chateau (6.60 Euro; I believe it is about 3.50 Euro alone). It was OK. It was neat to see the conditions that prisoners experienced. However, as others have mentioned, there is an odd mix of history and artwork -- when I was there they were displaying a set of skateboards with various paintings on them. They were rather interesting, but seemed odd in an old prison. This was similar to the chateau -- rather than focus on the interesting history of the place, they made it yet another art museum. However, it is a very quick visit (you probably only need 30 minutes) and is relatively cheap, so it's probably worth taking a few minutes to check out.
