Our stay in St Remy was a pleasant one. The room was big and spacious and the bed very comfortable. The rooms don't have a TV but we didn't mind that t as you can enjoy the quiet restful atmosphere and after a long day out sightseeing it didn't seem to matter.
We had breakfast several times in the hotel breakfast room. It was served to us by very pleasant staff and was definately adequate for the start of our day. The only negative perhaps is the price, at 12 euros we thought it a little expensive for Croissants, breads fruit/yoghurt tea coffee etc. Having said that it was convenient and we enjoyed sitting down in the setting provided.
The staff on reception are very helpful and keen to answer questions etc. It is definately a very nice hotel to stay in. The only true negative aspect was the fact that we had to use our laptop in a room between the reception and our room as it wouldn't connect in our hotel room. Other guests were also doing this. The room provided is nice but it would have been more convenient to use the laptop in our room.
Overall a pleasant stay was had by both of us and the garden is beautiful! certainly worth visiting again if we're in St Remy.

We stayed 16 days at the Hotel Sous les Figuiers. We stayed the 1st night in a lovely room that is on the walkway to the rest of the rooms, just past the office and atelier. We felt that we would like a more private room for a stay as long as ours. We were immediately given a choice of two rooms. Photographs can't convey the beauty, peace and quiet of the grounds. The rooms are large and so are the bathrooms. There is plenty of storage, both shelves and hanging. The beds and bedding are very comfortable. We loved having a porch. We sat there most evenings after sightseeing and before going to dinner. There are no televisions and we never missed it. We used our laptop to keep up on the news (Bin Ladin was killed during our stay.) There is a computer in the lounge for the use of guests. I had adequate internet access in our room but I noticed guests in the outer rooms using their laptops in the lounge, so perhaps their access was not as good. We did not eat breakfast but picked up a pot of very good coffee every morning and took it back to our room to drink with the pastries my husband bought in town. We lounged in the sun beside the pool a couple of times but the weather wasn't warm enough for swimming. The owners are fabulous. They were very helpful with restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. I felt that they were lovely people who made every effort to ensure that they guests were comfortable. There is parking inside a gate that is locked at night. The location is perfect - just on the outskirts of town and within a few minutes walk of the center. It was also a few blocks from the Supermarche and the cheapest gas we saw in the south of France. We loved our stay and were so very happy that we had chosen the Hotel Sous les Figuiers. Sixteen days is a long time to stay somewhere that doesn't make you happy - I felt a bit teary as we left.

This is a lovely hotel - two minutes from town, and such a calm, peaceful, relaxing oasis. Wonderful service, beautiful grounds, lovely little porch off a large room for breakfast in the morning or a cocktail in the evening. I was utterly charmed by it and would have been happy staying there for a week and making it the home base for all of my exploring. I highly, highly recommend it. St. Remy is a gorgeous town - don't miss the market on Wednesday.

We stayed at Hotel Sous les Figuiers for four nights at the end of April 2011. The hotel is beautifully decorated with lovely artworks in the communal areas and room. The best part was the lovely garden filled with fig trees, and the private patio where we could sit outside at the little table and chairs or laze in the deckchairs!

A comfy bed, pillows and nice sheets and towels... great shower and ample cupboard space and off-street parking were appreciated.

The only thing that would have been nice would have been a small room fridge or communal fridge. Also, there is no tea/ coffee making facility in the room, and instead this can be ordered for a few euro from the "cafe" area at the front of the property.

As others have said, the property is in a great location within walking distance from the town centre, and loads of lovely shops and restaurants. The larger towns of Arles, Avignon are a short drive. We really enjoyed a day trip south of Arles to the Camargue area, stopping for a quick lunch in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer which has a really spanish feel!

An absolutely fabulous place to stay. So easy to get being just one street off the main ring road around St remy with sign postage leading you to it. It has a car park and is only about a 3 minute walk from the centre of St Remy. Very quiet with lovely warm and hospitable staff who really took an interest in helping you. Free wi-fi with good connection. Lovely deck to sit out on and relax after a hard days sightseeing. Quite large bathroom with huge bathtub. We arrived on market day and bought olives, cheeses, dips, breads etc and then sat on our deck with a bottle of Moet - just heaven. It was such a relaxing stay. I highly recommend this place for its convenience, warmth and friendliness.

Enchanting...lovely room and bath...plenty of closets. The private deck overlooking the trees was delightful...a lovely bottle of rose toasting the day was perfection. Great location, free parking that's easy to get out of town. Breakfast a little pricey for what it was (would make more sense at 10 euros/person). But we went into town early and had a lovely petit dejeuner. Great restaurant recos from the hotelier as well. Would highly recommend staying here.
