This is not a dine-in restaurant but it is real 5 star RESTAURANT with FOOD & WINE to take away for lunch, dinner or picnic etc; The food (both hot & cold) is all fresh, home made and equal to anything you can buy in a good 5 star restaurant. The presentation of the food is second to none and the menu changes daily and is a must visit if you are into serious quality food.
We were in town for three days and bought our lunch here EVERY DAY with no disappointments, except we could not sit in and enjoy it.

This is easily by far the best food in St Remy. It was even better than most restaurants in Paris (and they were good), and I dare say the food is better than the "fine dining" experiences I've had in Miami, NYC, San Francisco and Las Vegas. First and foremost this unfortunately is not a sit down restaurant. It's a take out gourmet shop. Its run by a husband and wife and the wife does all the cooking. The food isn't frilly, but it's executed to perfection with class and integrity like any classically trained chef would do. There is an amazing attention to detail that rivals any Michelin Starred restaurant I've been to. And yet everything is still visually intoxicating. There aren't wisps of smoke and streaks of sauce painted on a plate. But there is an appreciation on ingredients and quality. Why sprinkle rose petals on a dish (that taste average) when you have someone that showcases the vibrant red of radicchio contrasting the greens and yellows of local olive oil that taste like angel tears. All I can say is the chef is a class act. Her food is amazing, her store is beautiful and her husband a gentleman. He helped us right away spoke English and Spanish to us when our French wasn't any good and went out of his way to recommend restaurants and wines after we had fallen in to some tourist traps. He truly knows food and drink and his store exemplifys that. Every selection on his shelves in made with intention. He's proud of his wife and his shop and he should be. He really stole our hearts and tummy's and because of La Pintade Champannee I'm a happier fuller person.

This place is amazing- we love to picnic so we were in heaven!

Amazing Serrano ham, pâté-en croute of chicken & lemon, awesome baguette (maybe a new addition after the review below?) and a "samosa" of oriental guinea fowl which was really good.

Other things that looked great that we may go back for tomorrow- cornichons, chickpeas, foie, stuffed tomatoes, potato salad, brandade....

Everything looks -and tastes- amazing! Apparently his wife cooks everything in the "Laboratoire" upstairs!

He also has a great selection of pricey wines/digestives BUT has "His Choice" of €8 bottles which I would say kick the [--] of any supermarché vino.

Honestly skip a formule/pizza lunch and have yourself a picnic - pick up some cheap/plastic cutlery, glasses and paper napkins in a Casino/monoprix/U - it will be the best meal of your trip!

Bon App!

My wife and I were lucky to literally have stumbled upon this gem in the final hours of their opening and then returned a few days later . Tucked away in a charming cave-like setting, La Pintade Chapannee is a "mom and pop and son" provisions shop with an amazingly diverse inventory of charcuterie, foies, cheeses, soups, prepared meals (yes, even vegetarian options), crackers, wine etc... More impressive than the variety of items and their exceptional quality is the fact that "mom" prepares the great majority of La Pintade's offerings in her relatively small, yet impressively equipped kitchen upstairs. One important comment- do not expect a Dean and Deluca gourmet food emporium, but rather a very small business selling the products of passion and what are probably decades of experience. If there is a downside, it is that La Pintade Chapannee does not have any breads for sale. I, however, didn't mind too much and viewed this as another excuse to stop in at a boulangerie and pick up a few more supplies.
