I came here to celebrate a special birthday and everything about this candlelit meal under the stars was spectacular. The was one of the two best dining experience we had on our 2.5 adventure across the South of France. Every course of the meal was outstanding (especially the lemon-cured dorade fish appetizer and rack of lamb). The staff was very warm, friendly, and professional - they went out of their way to make us feel welcome, including a visit from the owner of the hotel to our table. The dining area is small, inside and out in the garden, which makes for a more intimate experience. If you are not staying at the hotel, try to make a reservation far in advance and follow up in person once you are in St. Remy. They were kind enough to accommodate us for dinner even though we planned our trip too late to secure a room. I got the impression they added an extra table just for us knowing that it was my birthday. If you can't get a reservation, make a visit to the beautiful bar inside for a drink and appetizers. I can't wait to go back next summer. Thank you, again, Chateau des Alpilles!
