We stumbled in from the airport on our first night. We were attracted by the romantic patio. My wife enjoyed a grilled, whole, somewhat deboned table side sea bream. It was delicate and tasty. I had a local rice with crawfish done risotto style. Excellent. Both were E24. The desert was four tastes of deliciousness. It didn't take us long to figure out why the wine and water were on everyone's tables. Self service. We had an excellent Puligny Montrachet E75 after an earlier miscommunication which they fixed nicely. Cozy, romantic spot.

the place itself is not bad but the service is really unprofessional, food is not great either with a very very poor presentation, we had lamb and was served in half of a big white plate with nothing else on it, too sad. It's just a wannabe a good restaurant but far really far from that. Really tacky silverware. I've to remind them that i ordered a glass of champagne for aperitif, and also they totally forgot to bring me a glass of armagnac after dessert, they don't even have the excuse that the place was too full because only few tables were busy, and the best was when we was the maitre D leaving the place with his bike helmet in his hand when the few people that were there will still having dinner

The garden terrace used to be spectacular but not the food. The opposite is the case now. With new owners the auberge has been revamped very stylishly but the terrace needs some love and attention. Nevertheless, the food is superb. There were 8 of us and nobody was unimpressed. Starters to make one think. Original presentation with unusual touches (especially the vegetables). The fish dishes were cooked to perfection.
The wine list was tremendous. Highly recommended!

I first knew La Reinne Jeanne 10 years ago. Old fashioned, a little dowdy, resident bulldogs dotted around, tiffs between staff, all rather pleasantly whacky - with rather ordinary food.
That's all changed. Top Chef finalist Fanny Rey opened up for business in July 2012. The food is truly excellent but service is painfully slow and, based on the two meals I have there in the last 10 days, the ability to converse in English is very limited indeed. The trendy state of the art kitchen can be admired behind plate glass panels, chefs in toques bob and weave out of earshot, waiters to and fro. But where has my food gone?

I would so like to see this restaurant enjoy the success it is capable of but there are some very real efficiency
problems that demand urgent attention.

Do try La Reinne Jeanne. Book an early meal if you can, or bring a book to read.

Remodeled. Interesting decor. Pleasant staff anxious to please. Food very good. One of the top three restaurant experiences for us in St. Remy, along with La Maison Jaune and Marc Passorio.
