“Quintessential Provence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2012

Located in scenic Provence, a half an hour outside of Arles, MAS DE LAS CROIX D'ARLES captures the best of cultural immersion with modern amenities. The grounds are gorgeous, affording visitors the chance to experience quintessential country side Provence, without having to struggle through throngs in Avignon or Arles ... Get the city-visit out of our system and return quickly to Jordane's delightful house for a quick country walk, a swim, or just good ole' R AND R.

Rickey Stevey ought to do this place the justice it deserves and review it highly. Jordane's dog Aiton is a delight too.

We have been traveling in France for the last 10 days, and have traveled extensively elsewhere in the past. Additionally we are Trip Advisor junkies and Rick Steves readers. Without restating the previous information, which is completely accurate, all I can say is I wish I could own this place! The setting is serene, the accommodations are beautiful and artistically designed, the site plan oasis-like. Rather than stay in a congested small city, this property offers an inspired setting among vineyards and other fine estates. Jordane, the owner is lovely and helpful, and Etan, her hunting dog, completes this five star location.

We stayed in the main farmhouse for just two nights but wish it was much longer. I can't recommend this mas highly enough.

Two light coloured gravel tracks lined with flowers led to the small gravel parking in front of the mas. There are other units but it felt very private. There was a beautiful field with a stone picnic table. There is a view of the Alpilles from the mas. Tall trees frame the back of the property behind the mas. The farmhouse was recently restored and it felt warm and cosy. The main floor has a small kitchen with everything you could want and a dining room, with a large wooden table. Small windows on each side and the glass centred doors had views on to the fields and hills and let in a lot of light. Next to the main room was a smaller living room. The two bedrooms were upstairs, one with twin beds. Our gracious host Jordane also had a baby cot set up in the master bedroom for our 6 month old baby. There was a long picnic table next to the mas for our use with 6-8 wooden chairs. A perfect place to eat & drink or just kick back and enjoy the view.

We had wonderful breakfasts prepared by our gracious host Jordane and served in the comfort of our farmhouse.

We loved the location as well. It is a pleasant relatively short walk to St. Remy and an even shorter walk to the Roman ruins of Glanum and Saint Paul de Mausole Asylum.

I would love to come back and stay here again!

We have stayed in this delightful mas several times. It is peaceful, historic and very tasteful. The rooms are comfortable and we love the plunge pool in the gardens. Jordane the hostess is charming and speaks good English. The breakfast served on the terrace is fresh, tasty yoghurts, juices and steaming coffee. We will definitely go again and recommend it.

This property is on the outskirts of St Remy and not easy to find, but is well worth seeking out. Accommodation is in four, meticulously renovated buildings, separate from the Proprietor's home, spread throughout the lovely grounds. Entry to them is via a gravel driveway flanked by grape vines and roses.
Our accommodation was in the Large house, with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and a large kitchen and family room downstairs; a sitting room opened off this area as well. The utensils, equipment and furnishings were all of excellent quality. There is a splendid, shaded terrace - ideal for al fresco meals - and access to a small plunge pool.
Our charming hostess, Jordane, served a pleasant breakfast on her terrace or, on cooler days, in her family kitchen. She was ever helpful and full of excellent suggestions about the town and surrounding district.
We cannot speak too highly of this property and will certainly return.

This lovely B&B is just a short 10 minute walk to the heart of St Remy, but it seems way out in the country where it is peaceful and quiet. Our room was large and very nice in a stone outbuilding from the owner's home. There was a beautiful view of the Alpilles from our window. The main house and the outbuildings have been beautifully restored. Jordane, our hostess, was wonderful. Breakfast is served in her home or in your room. If we go back to St Remy we would definitely want to stay there again.
