If you want to spurlge to stay in a several hundered year old chateau with excellent food, excellent service and beautiful grounds this is the place.

Eat at least one dinner here, especially in warm weather when you'll be seated on the terrace. Breakfast is also worth the spurlge. You can also walk into St Remy, about 20 minutes, for coffee and crossaint in the AM.

The staff are exceptional, even down to the gardener who showed us some of his favorite plants and what was happening in the green house.

It's a little difficult to find. The address doesn't show up on GPS. The folks in St Remy all seem to know the way and will happiliy point the way. But I wouldn't recommend showing up for the first time after dark.

Locating this beautiful chateau was not that easy even with GPS but when we eventually arrived at sunset, we were awed by it's beauty. The long driveway at sunset and the chateau at the end of the driveway were sights to behold.

The chateau and its grounds were beautiful although I felt the outside could've been better kept but perhaps that added to its charm.

We stayed 3 nights in winter and used it as our base to explore the region. We had a wonderful time. The room we had on the second floor was comfortable and fairly well appointed. Only complaint was lack of coffee & tea making facilities in the room.

We ate at the restaurant one night and whilst the food was ok, the menu was very limited which was why we didn't dine there again.

Overall, a very charming place which we wouldn't mind returning if we're ever back in that part of Provence.

I couldn't disagree more with the previous review. We stayed in a tradition elegance room and it was amazing. We loved the experience of walking through the corridor full of charm and history. The room was beautiful, clean and big. The bed was very comfortable. Most of all, the character of the hotel, and indeed, the room makes the stay an unique experience. The staff was extremely helpful. We wanted to stay somewhere different, calm and quiet and we were not disappointed.

Beautiful building but too much hit and miss to justify 4 star rating and associated price tag. We stayed in a ground floor room with half the furniture missing, ie only one bed side table and no coffee table. The room itself receives little natural light and feels a little gloomy. The alternative room offered was downright sinister, a high ceiling long corridor transformed into a room with a large damp patch in the ceiling. The staff was polite but not very helpful. In addition to the lack of swimming pool or gym, the outside space is very formal and under utilised. A few uncomfortable deck chairs randomly scattered around but with no atmosphere. The garden is shabby chic gone too far. It is clear that it is not kep by a proper gardener. Overall, I could be an amazing place but I feels run by well intentioned amateurs. Best feature is the very silent an efficient aircon in the room.

What a wonderful dreamy place. Make it your first choice in the Avignon area and you will love every second you are there. The owners are incredibly helpful. The service was just wonderful.
If you think 20 Euro too much for breakfast, they accomdate requests for simpler breakfast at 7 Euro

Room Tip: Made no special request and they gave me a drop of heaven

We stayed at the Chateaux de Roussan for three days and it is absolute perfection. The hotel is an old historic chateaux that has been fixed up and decorated in beautiful fashion. It is surrounded by a park with lovely trees, ponds, flowers and foliage. The chateaux itself is comfortable, beautiful and lovingly taken care of by a superbly dedicated staff, who were always attentive and friendly. Our suite was situated toward the park and the room was so beautiful, we began to feel like royalty! It is immaculately clean and gorgeously decorated. Their restaurant extends to the outside toward the park and although we only ate breakfast, I can attest to the fact that even that was a lovely experience. The staff was helpful and unfailingly nice. There just simply is not anything I can think of to criticize and I would go back in a minute! I would give it my highest personal rating.

Room Tip: From what I can see, every room faces a beautiful scene and all looked just lovely to me.

Why not be the Compte de Roussan at this wonderful chateau? Certainly the grounds are great, extending so that you can settle at seats as though you are out in the countryside, with little streams rippling past you. Certainly the service is exceptionally helpful and friendly. Certainly the courtyard restaurant is very good quality. But the chateau itself is the most remarkable feature of a stay here. The fact, for example, that they have kept the old library for you to settle in, rather than making it another guest room, is a good indication.

Only the XIIIth century could offer such a charming mansion, only 2km away from Saint‐Rémy de Provence. As you’ll slowly walk down the elegant alley of centennial plane trees, you’ll discover the “Château de Roussan”, designed by a brilliant French architect.
