Sunday evening in St Remy, almost everything was closed except this charming little restaurant. Just one guy in the kitchen and one front of house, they managed to keep it all together as it went from deserted to busy. Interesting menu and great presentation. Good food, very friendly service. Recommended.

Dinner here was excellent. It was a bit more expensive than some of the local places but the food and wine were much better.

We have been here a week and this was the best of the bunch!

My wife I and spent a lovely evening in this small charming restaurant. She gives it five starts while I give it four - nonetheless an excellent location that we both recommend. She had a Salad du Jour as her entree and was blown away by the elegantly composed combination of fresh vegetables, chicken, and other savory and sweet flavors. I had steak au poivre which also was very good but not quite up to a five star level. The lone waiter (likely also the owner) was very friendly, translated the chalkboard menu for us, and made us feel welcome. Inclusive of a 35 Euro bottle and desert the bill came to 100 Euro - very reasonable given the quality of the meal.

We ate in this restaurant on September 10 2010. It's a small restaurant with no outside seating and a small menu. But that means all the food is fresh and tasty. The decor is very French cafe with some quirky lampshades made from kitchen implements! It reminded us of the Quality Chop House in London. To start our party had crevettes with aioli, herring and gambas - all excellent. For mains we had Scallops (noix st jaques) the magret de canard with apricots (duck) and beef steak. Only criticism here is the cut of beef was was tough - even though it was cooked rare. We drew this to their attention and they said they would raise this with their butcher and offered another meal - it was clearly not the chef's fault. For desert : creme brulee, ice cream and fruit crumble - all very tasty. Great wine list and house champagne. The staff and clientelle were so pleasant that when we asked them to order us a taxi and none was available a client arrived with his car (a brand new cadillac) and drove us back to our villa a - refusing to accept any money!

My wife and I walked by this small restaurant late in the afternoon and went back to insure we could get an evening reservation. There were only seats for maybe 26 in the entire place and while we were the first ones seated (typical Americans!) by the time were done the place was full. The menu was brought to us on a blackboard and the proprietor knew enough English to help us through it. Our meals were excellent, the service gracious and the cost relatively modest. From what we could tell there were only two staff members - the cook and the proprietor. While we couldn't be certain we also sensed that the crowd was mostly local, not tourists. We were only sorry that we were not staying in town long enough to have dinner there again.
