It is typical budget French hotel with relaxed personnel. OK for couple of nights, not more. Recommended for backpackers.

Likes:
- Room was very French with 4 meters tall ancient glass windows. Impressive.
- Clean enough compared to similar hotels.
- Very friendly staff.

Dislikes:
- Room was very dark, regardless large window.
- Soundproof. Could here every person in hotel.
- Bathroom. Shower is so small, you can hardly stand in without touching walls.

The location is not far from the center of Marseille, but about 5 minutes are in a bad district. Anyway, we enjoyed our stay a lot, most probably due to the friendliness and hospitality of the receptionist, that helped us a lot, had a nice conversation, and somehow I'd say we became friends in that only night. Would really recommend it.

We had booked three nights in this hotel and checked out after one! The room was dirty with big stains on the curtains, the window would not close fully making it very noisey at night. There were rips in the bed covers. The bathroom was digusting, dirty and smelly (the cleaner put a glass over the shower drain to help mask the smell. There was yellow stains on the basin and the towel rail was hanging off. There was such a large gap under the bedroom door that you could actually fit your foot under it. We were told all the rooms were the same, so we checked out. The manager should have no comment on this as we were told he was not there and that they couldnt get in touch with him. The worst of many hotels that we have ever stayed in. Pay the extra and go to a better one.
